I have stayed at Kilna house on multiple occasions with my family, and I have come back again and again due to the very warm welcome and friendly staff. We stayed in an lovely room overlooking the garden. Depending on the weather, we had the option of eating our breakfast on the patio which was lovely and refreshing. The location is great as it did not take us long to go the beach or to Looe or Polperro, which were lovely places to visit and the staff were helpful with ideas on what we could do during the week. It was lovely to come back and open a bottle of wine and look at the stars as it is located in a peaceful and quite area. Lovely place to unwind at the end of a busy day. I Would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely house and great location

Spent three nights at this delightful property with our dog.
The house is over 300 years old and has many characteristics you expect to find in properties of this age. It is set in a lovely garden which guests are welcome to use. The breakfast is good quality and sets you up for the day exploring the area or just a trip to the beach. If you bring your dog then I can recommend Seaton Beach 9 miles from the property where dogs are welcome.
As stated the property is directly on the A38, this is a busy road but didn't bother us and allows for good access to the lovely county of Cornwall.

Short Break mixed with Work.

We stayed for a week , we had a lovely warm welcome from Bridget, who showed us to our lovely room overlooking the garden. The room was tastefully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and although overlooking a main road was very quiet. Breakfast was amazing, you could have as much or as little as you wanted , you were asked what you wanted every day , so you could decide on a full English or just toast and coffee .(  coffee was delicious) .Bridget and her daughters were very friendly and gave us lots of suggestions of where to visit. A lovely ,homely place , if your travelling to Cornwall/Devon don’t miss out on this little gem .

Lovely house in beautiful grounds

What a lovely place to stay was made to feel so welcome the breakfast was amazing home made bread was beautiful and the fruit all grown buy the host was amazing. fresh home made grape jelly was so nice could of eaten it all the bed was comfortable bedding clean couldn't fault anything about it thanks for making us feel welcome and the great breakfast

Great stay lovely host

Lovely place to stay. Barbara made us very welcome . Lovely breakfast  in the mornings and homemade bread and home grown fruit. Clean towels didn't  have to ask. We only have one complaint  our stay was not long enough .

Fishing holiday

Wanted somewhere convenient for ferry. Arrived late but welcomed. Rooms both good size with comfy beds. Breakfast was superb. Excellent value for money and just a short trip over Tamar from Plymouth. We recommend this guest house.

Great overnight stay

This is a lovely B&B, very well situated on the A38. Whilst there is traffic noise outside, the room was still very quiet at night. A very warm welcome from the hosts who were incredibly friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and they will cater for dietary requirements if you let them know in advance. I loved the homemade bread and marmalade. In the interests of balance, if I had to fault anything it was some of the dated decor. I know however that they are planning on updating this in the near future and so when I next visit (which I would love to) I'm sure I'll be giving this place the full 5 stars. One recommendation, if you want to eat at the Rod and Line (which you should), book a table.

A lovely welcome

We had a lovely stay and Bridget was very accommodating of us when we arrived. The rooms had a very cosy feel to it that it made me feel that I was actually their guest rather than a stranger paying to stay at the guest house. Her entire family was very warm and welcoming too. We had delicious breakfast the following morning. Definitely recommend staying if you're around the area.

Guest house with a lovely character

Great time was had by all members of the party
Only problem was the wi-fi, wasn't as good as stated... Kept going in and out of signal...apart from that...
Not a good place if disabled, due to stairs...

Great place to stay when visiting Cornwall

We booked here then read the reviews, paid attention to the negatives but didn’t bother to register it.
These hosts have been doing this for 45 years, they know comfy soft beds, great breakfast, good welcome, friendly faces.
Stayed in the front room nearest road, didn’t hear it once blissfully asleep.
Dogs were cherished and they both loved the gardens.
Will stay again next time.
