This place is a gem. We visited with our little dog and couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. We were in Room 10 on the top floor and it was lovely- very clean, nicely decorated and the tea and coffee etc were plentiful and really great quality. 
Breakfast was lovely too. Massive selection and really tasty. 
The location is excellent, the only dog friendly accommodation on the sea front, which is a matter of steps from the front door. 
Portrush in general is one of the most dog- friendly places we’ve visited and Ashlea House really makes it. We’ve paid far far more for service and food that didn’t come close. This is a lovely, traditional guest house. We’ll definitely be back.

Stayed in this B&B last year and delighted  with room at that time but the difference a room can make  to your experience. This time stayed in rm 6 with friend . Had asked for twin beds as we did not want to share  . Got large double bed and a small cot size bed . Room was very old , unkept, wallpaper coming off , dirty corners , a lot of cobwebs ( not new ones) and the bathroom is well unfit for purpose. Its disappointing  for me to write this review as staff are really friendly and it is a good location . The room needs stripped and completely redecorated and a new bathroom. It may be cheaper than a hotel however rooms need to be at least fit for purpose . Once this is sorted will def be a good place to stay as they have everything else right.

Disappointing return visit

Absolutely lovely place , and well maintained for the B&B level. 
We have just arrived from a short trip to Northern Ireland and spent one night at Ashlea's house. We chose this property because it is pet friendly and there are not many options available around. I want to thank Geraldine for helping me and being able to book an extra room for our relatives at the last minute.
Ashely house located 3-5 minutes walk from the city center, and within few minutes walking to the port of Portrush, plenty of restaurants/bars/pubs are available there. We had family and double room booked. Rooms were so spacious, clean, well prepared for the guests and selection of tea/coffee as well as toiletries is well ahead then in many other 4* hotels. 
There is a breakfast menu available with a good selection and trust you will have enough food to fill your tummy for the rest of the day.
I believe that this B*B can compete with some hotels and honestly I would rather stay in such B&B and pay a reasonable price without any regret than the crazy prices and inappropriate service of some hotels.

We've just enjoyed a weekend at Ashlea House, which is the only dog friendly hotel in the centre of Portrush. 
We stayed in Room 10 on the top floor and the view was really gorgeous. The room was immaculately clean, very well stocked with bottled water, tea and coffee facilities, toiletries etc, restocked daily. The room had an iron, small ironing board and hairdryer. The breakfast was delicious, a great selection of cereals, fruits etc first and then a selection of cooked items. Owner Geraldine was extremely welcoming and clearly adores dogs- a staff member brought an extra breakfast sausage wrapped up for our dog, without being asked! The location is excellent, less than a minute down to the seafront. We'll definitely be back asap.

We'll be back

Just spent the bank holiday here with my mum and daughter who is lactose intolerant. Soy and oat milk and suitable butter provided at breakfast. Couldn't have been more helpful. Wonderful blonde lady at breakfast time was so attentive to us and all the other guests. We had the family room which over looked the harbour and beach. Very spacious room, more than enough teas/coffees/milks/bottles of water provided. Very clean and lovely room. Cannot recommend this place enough, I wish I could give you all more stars!

Fabulous place, amazing staff

Absolute fantastic stay. Couldn’t recommend ashlea house more. Was out with my family in portrush and had an incident whilst out which resulted in us not getting back till the early hours of the morning. Geraldine the owner helped us in so many ways, she got up early to ensure we had breakfast as soon as we came in and we were due to check out at 10am and because we had no sleep she let us stay until we were ready to leave. Fantastic customer service all round and we will most definitely all be back. The B and B was lovely, clean, friendly staff, beautiful breakfast, fantastic over all. Thank you for having us.

Absolute fantastic stay

At such a reasonable price didn’t know what to expect so pleasantly surprised with this place . Fabulous central location and views are amazing. 2 min walk down steps to promenade and same to lovely restaurants nearby . Our room was very clean with everything we needed for a pleasant stay .  We were at  the top so only negative is that we had a shared bathroom but this is reflected in the price & we knew in advance. We had friends in room next to us so didn’t mind sharing with them . Would highly recommend and will definitely return .

Beautiful views , great location

My partner  and i stayed here with our 2 pups we had a great time the room where lovely spacious and very clean. Geraldine is the owner who is a lovely and nice person try to help in any way.  denise  served breakfast and she is lovely and very friendly. The breakfast in the moring was great there was a good choice. The location is amazing right in the middle so close to everything and at nights it was peaceful and quiet which is good. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here with dogs too. PS I forgot to take the pics when we got there so did it the next day 😅

Amazing place and highly recommend

We have just come back from Ashlea House where we stayed for a week. It was lovely we had the room at the top of the house .. a few extra stairs  but what a view.
 You need a week to try out all the options on the breakfast menu and they are all fabulous. 
Staff and owner were  lovely and couldn’t do enough for you .

Lovely 😊

Stayed on the 13th in room 2 all staff were very nice. Free WiFi was very fast. Breakfast in the morning was lovely.
Rooms had everything you could need e.g tv, sanitizer, lotions and shower bells. It was a short 2 minute walk down the steps to the beach. 5 out of 5 we really enjoyed our stay!
