Quiet street with plenty of amenities. 3 minutes to the harbour. Comfy beds, clean and good water pressure. 

Stayed with two teenagers who had a twin to themselves and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 

Instructions were clear and the on site cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful.

Quiet base to explore Oban from.

This was a perfect room for me and my partner to stay for the weekend. 
The owners are more than helpful.

The only thing I might advise would be to maybe a small kitchenette near the window so guests to that room could do self catering if they choose.

Overall 5 star stay....

PS The View is a nice place to party in the evening.

Weekend Stay In Oban December 2023

Simply cannot recommend Raniven, and The Dun studio apartment highly enough!

Perfectly located just off the main street of Oban and just a couple of minutes walk from the bay, this amazing apartment was meticulously clean, tastefully decorated, well appointed and the perfect size for a couple of days in Oban.

Liam, the owner, based remotely but is  always on hand for anything you need whilst the entry system was seamless.

Cannot wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful stay.



Perfect sized apartment for a couple of days away.

A lovely clean, comfy room. Everything spotlessly clean and bed really comfy. An amazing view over Oban worth the small extra charge. Plenty of parking which was a big bonus.Woukd definitely return with out hesitation.

Great place

Excellent location, close to harbor but not noisy.  Very large room (Number 1) with comfortable king sized bed, a table and upholstered chairs.  Lots of electrical outlets!  Looks to be recently updated.

Ask for Room number 1.  It's on the first floor, bed is great.

Good instructions for check-in and check-out.  

There is a parking lot specifically for B&B guests which is nice as parking on the street is not free.

Lovely stay in Oban

The Raniven was lovely and clean well situated in oban nice walk in to town.  My husband left his keys in the room and Liam is going to get them to us. Thanks for a really good stay at the Raniven we will be back next year and hopefully stay at the Raniven as we had a really enjoyable few days x

Lovely visit to oban to meet friends

Raniven, is a very clean, comfortable guest house. Well run with key lock with you own code for your room number. It is well situated very near everything and you get into the centre within 10mins. It is a small run business.

A nice week away from Edinburgh

We loved our stay in the apartment! It had been thoughtfully designed and was really clean and well decorated with good quality fittings. Liam was really helpful. The apartment has its own entrance at the rear of the house  - would recommend.

Fabulous studio apartment

We stayed at the Raniven in June 2022 as part of our road trip in Scotland. We had rooms 3 and 7. The rooms are immaculate, very clean with an en-suite which all of the rooms have. We knew that breakfast won't be served and therefore had breakfast both mornings at Bossards. (100 % recommended) Room 3 is on a mid-level just above the first set of stairs. It has a nice big bathroom. Room 7 is on the top floor and has a smaller bathroom (still big enough) and as a very nice surprise we found a tassimo coffee maker in it. Room 3 has the usual kettle. The check-in was self-service with very clear instructions. The owner is always in contact with the guests through email in case something would be missing. We had a very nice stay at the Raniven. It is close to town, has parking in the back or street parking. Oban is small enough to walk everywhere.
The beds are a bit soft.

Very clean B&B, close to the main street

Very comfy, clean, fresh and spacious room. We had room 5 (super king room) and it was very big, the bed was very comfy, the room temperature could be controlled by us, perfectly clean, nice big bathroom and shower. There is free parking for 5 cars which we always used, there was also plenty of spaces out the front (paid) if you couldn’t get into the car park. We will definitely return when we come back to Oban. Highly recommended. (This is more of a serviced house than a B&B as there is no reception / breakfast but we knew this and it suited us perfectly.)
