I have read the mixed reviews and find some quite harsh from my experience.
We booked for a budget hotel and were not let down.
It is basic as others have said but offers secure free parking good service comfortable room and great breakfast in a great location for exploring .
On a bus route if required and near tube station also walking distance to shopping centre and Olympic stadium which is the reason we went.
For the price we paid this was excellent value and certainly met our requirements.
All staff were polite and helpful and will add a Wetherspoons is only a 15 minute walk away .

It Delivered 

At £84 it was good value for me and my son to stay overnight and enjoy breakfast.  The staff were very friendly and helpful but the rooms let them down.  
No access to the Wifi, poor television connection. Wobbly toilet seat, headboard fell of one bed in the night.  Rooms need updating, electrics also a bit dodgy if too many things plugged in.  Very loud music coming from somewhere near by, walls paper thin.  Would consider another over nigh stay but would not necessarily recommend it to others. Sorry

Cheap, cheerful and

We stayed for 1 night and were very comfortable. We were in a separate building out the back, the room was small but perfectly functional. It was a bit tired looking but was clean so that’s the main thing. We would definitely stay again if we were back in that area. The person who greeted us was great, helpful and friendly.

Nice hotel

Clean, and well run. The receptionist was very helpful. Very reasonably priced. Does what it needs to. Has a nice bar as well. Well situated, good bus links to Stratford centre and you can walk it in about fifteen minutes

Functional

This is not everyone’s cup of tea. Room wasn’t very clean, bits missing from the floor, wallpaper hanging off, bed was disgusting we didn’t even go under the covers. Found Xmas tinsel under the bed. Room was boiling asked for a fan was told they don’t provide fans, 36 degrees and 8 months pregnant not really acceptable. No lift, climbed a million stairs, got to the top to find the night receptionist gave us someone else’s key. Barely spoke a word of English, couldn’t even work a till when trying to purchase a soft drink. £8 for breakfast EACH. Didn’t bother as the room was bad enough. 
Pay more and upgrade its slap bang in the middle of riot area
Only positive is it was across from the bus stop which took you directly into Stratford station which was perfect due to being there for the baseball. 

STAY CLEAR.

Wouldn’t return

Very dated hotel. Very friendly staff always ready to help.
Had a room in the building behind the main, rooms dated, beds good, very noicy could l hear literally what the neighbors were saying. Breakfast is okay, standard.
They have a aquarium in de bar ... feel very sorry for the three fish and the turtle, this is really animal abuse !

Stayed for 1 night. Price was excellent so was the accommodation! Couldn’t fault it! Fast & Free WiFi! Although a shared bathroom, this was very clean! Breakfast was basic - free! Beds in room very comfy!

Excellent price and accommodation!

We stayed for the ride London weekend and we found the staff to be friendly & welcoming. Although the bathroom was on the small side, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was made to order, promptly and hot. On the morning of the ride On the morning of the ride, breakfast was started earlier than normal, with porridge and bananas also layed on for the riders. Would stay again.

A great find for east London.

Disappointed when one of our rooms smelt a bit musty.On the plus side clean comfy beds. Clean towels etc provided. Clean shower/toilet.Secure parking and mostly friendly helpful staff.But oh my goodness the breakfast! I thought i was in a faulty towers sketch with a female manuel.When guests that had entered 15 minutes after us got served their breakfast's before us I thought I would politely mention this . Well I got told quite abruptly " sit-down, you wait, we busy".Then guests that entered 20 minutes after us got served their breakfast's before us! Eventually 40 minutes after sitting down our breakfas arrived. Shame we had to guzzle it down as we were now running late.

Mixed feelings

Three of us stayed here 27/06/18 for one night as we were going to O2 to see Quincey Jones. From entering the hotel to leaving the following day the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. We’ve stayed in several hotels in London often paying double even treble what we paid here, and the standards at the Forest View were much higher than we have experienced before. Nothing was too much trouble we were even given a bus and tube printout. Beds were lovely and comfortable, the shower was was fantastic. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. If we are in London again we will definitely be staying here.
