I needed a place to sleep close to South Kensington underground. This is exactly that. All cheap hotels in central London have bad reviews because is cold and I was afraid of that but the room was worm. The location is amazing. You have many breakfast options  around and for diner an Armenian restaurant at ground floor and behind the building a great Lebanese and a good Chinese restaurant. You're on the best train hub in London. Here Circle, District and Piccadilly lines meet so you are incredibly fast to get anywhere. Buses are also abundant here if you want to commute with a view.

Is a truly bear bones experience. Room is worm and the beds, showers and toilets are clean but that is all that is clean. Bring sleepers they don't clean surfaces that don't come in contact with the skin. The attention to detail of the cleaning crew is so bad that they missed a Pringles crisp near the bed and a 2.5 litters bottle under the desk. Behind the sink foot, there's a thick lair of dust and gunk but you only see that when you sit on the toilet. Black mold is starting to appear on the bathroom ceiling. Bottom of the bathroom door frame was rotten from water damage and not painted over. The buildings in that part of London are cramped so expect narrow corridors, steep staircases, small rooms and no elevators. My room was 82 stairs up, quite an experience to navigate luggage thru the narrow corridors so come prepared.

Friendly staff made our stay memorable.
Harry on Reception was just the best, and the back of house staff were efficient and helpful.
Room was quiet, clean and cosy. Towels were large and fluffy. Beds were comfortable. Staircase ensured we reached our 10,000 steps each day.

Room is clean and bed very comfortable - well equipped - location very central and easy to step into busy Chelsea- will come back for sure 

Great staff and clean comfortable room 

Excellently located very close to tube station "South Kensington" (1 min by foot).
Very clean bathroom & shower, power shower on the 5th floor, soft and clean towels! Comfortable beeds and clean sheets. Quiet room towards backyard. The only thing we were not really happy about was the Wifi. It was very slow and we often could not use it at the same time.

Yes this hotel is in need of modernisation, but my stay was really pleasant. I requested a quiet room and I did have a quiet room. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Hotel was in South Kensington with lots of restaurants and underground on doorstep. I will stay here again.

Cheap and cheerful 

Very comfy room and excellent customer service  budget friendly nobody can bit with this price in same location which is easy to go everywhere 
Staff also very polite and always ready to help. I strongly suggest if anybody stay in London 

Value for money

Love this hotel! Small but friendly. Perfect location - walking distance to Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, shops, cafes, and South Kensington subway station. Downside? No lift and small rooms but otherwise, just right. Stayed here two years in a row and will come back again.

Thrifty, tidy, and just right!

I will absolutely stay here again. The management was phenomenal. Room was clean and well maintained. Perfect location: in South Kensington/Chelsea area, directly adjacent to the South Kensington Underground station.

Fantastic neighborhood/community. All restaurant/food options you could possibly need. All personal shopping options you could possibly need.

The hotel stepped us for us after our initial hotel let us down in a big way and we were pretty desperate. We stayed 7 nights and would not have changed a thing about our decision. I cannot speak highly enough of the Brompton Hote, its management, and staff. 

Brompton Hotel Saved Our Trip!

The location is perfect.  The family room is clean, has a microwave, kettle, tea and coffee, hairdryer, iron, wc, bath - everything you could want.  Comfortable beds and the room is cleaned every day.  The room is very warm, we even kept the window open.  Perfect for the price.

The bed was very comfortable and the pillows and duvet were great.
The room and bathroom were clean and the room had a small fridge and tea making facilities,
Very close to South Kensington tube which was very handy for us.
All staff were friendly and provided us any needed information.
The water took a while to heat in the shower and the carpet was threadbare in places but didn’t change a good base to stay for our 2 night stay in a nice part of London.
Across the road is a lovely bakery where we had breakfast. 
Would definitely stay again
