Best b&b in great Britain winners of 4 in bed and well worthy winners.not fanr off the m5 we made it our stop off on the way south.just didn't want to leave.great staff perfect food and immaculate rooms .

Perfect

Soar Chapel is a perfect place to stay if you are in and around Ebbw Vale. Definitely one of the biggest cottages I have stayed in. We were a group of 11adults and 7 kids and there was plenty of space for the kids to run around and for adults to hang-out. Also if you are lucky with the weather you can enjoy an evening with BBQ. The cottage was clean with all necessary amenities. Lesley and Cloey were really helpful right from booking and during our stay. Will definitely recommend this place to others.

Great place to stay and friendly staffs

Well deserved top marks, I honestly can't think of anything I would change. As a family we hired the whole of Soar Chapel and it worked like a dream. Well appointed rooms and bathrooms. The kitchen/diner is a big draw and we spent a lot of time there. The upstairs living room is a lovely space and big (we pushed back the sofas and had a yoga class for 7 of us!). Towels, soaps, kettles in every room with a small fridge too.
Homemade welsh cakes on arrival and our hosts made us feel extremely welcome and well looked after.
Not a huge amount of outside space, nice small decking area and front garden - but you are so near to Brecon Beacons, why would you need more and literally on your doorstep is also the  Ebbw Fach Trail.
Highly recommend - great location to do all your sightseeing from and don't forget a visit to the Owl sanctuary at the Festival Park.

Top notch

Stayed at Soar House for two nights and how quaint it is, we had twin room with en-suite and on arrival in the room, a plate of home made Welsh cakes awaited us. Tea and coffee tray plus biscuits, limited toiletries but enough for your needs. Small fridge in room where fresh milk was within, enough room for bottle of wine which we brought along with us. 
As you would expect from an old building, floors creaky which can be heard occasionally.
Breakfast so much choice, covers all tastes from full Welsh to smoked salmon bagels and muffin eggs Benedict (including veg option), yogurts, fresh fruit, breads (toast your own), crumpets, cereals, meat/cheese platter and Lesley’s home made banana bread was delicious!
Very homely especially the evenings for us as we cosied up in the gallery lounge on comfortable sofas with Sky tv, enjoying a glass of our wine.
No wonder Lesley was a winner of Four in a Bed a year or so ago, highly recommended.

Excellent and cosy hospitality.

Visited here for a 2 night break with our little dog. Booking was really simple and communication from Lesley was great. The rooms are lovely, very modern and spotlessly clean, reasonably sized and the plate of homemade welsh cakes was lovely. There’s a great choice at breakfast and the sausages, black pudding and bacon were very good quality and cooked to perfection. There didn’t seem much to do in the immediate vicinity of the guest house so a car is essential and the location is very central for all sorts of adventures. The owner and staff were all lovely and very welcoming and helpful with places to visit from their local knowledge. Well worth a stay here and I would recommend to anybody. 

Great break

Recently stayed for 2 nights after a recommendation from family. Soar chapel definitely does not disappoint. Clean and homely room with nice shower room. Breakfast was amazing with a great selection, cafetière coffee was a pleasant surprise. Hosts were so warm and friendly, very attentive. Wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else if I were to return and would recommend to anyone and everyone!!!

Outstanding

Fantastic room, everything provided, even a first aid kit, comfortable bed, plus two comfy chairs, desk and chair and futon.  Good choice of breakfast and lovely homemade Welsh cakes. Will definitely visit again

Lovely guest house!

Such a lovely B&B! Lesley and the staff are all so kind and the bedrooms and bathrooms are stunning. Thank you so much for having me for a month! Breakfast caters for dairy and gluten intolerances if you request. Definitely recommend to anyone for a lovely night away! Shared lounge upstairs is also really nice with a massive TV with Sky.

i was recommend this guest house by family in Gwent area as well as others at the moment you don't know what your going to get until you arrive and then it's to late a lot of false reviews this wasn't the case. We arrived with such a warm and friendly welcome nothing was too much trouble for them very clean food was lovely and clean. Soar chapel was such a warm and family run place and we would 100% stay their again. Thank you ladies X
