Was lovely food we went to Mexican night, very filling ordered far to much by no fault of our own not knowing or been there before.
excellent service by the lady + tall gent.
however it was slightly unorganised due to no table numbers we think orders getting mixed up but can’t grumble plenty of apologies given could of been worse. Would go again in the future :)

Couple date night

Fabulous service and great atmosphere with a talented young lady playing the piano. Staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive and the food was amazing, very high standard and would highly recommend and will be going again soon. Great new restaurant for Grimsby that we desperately needed

Amazing food and atmosphere

Went for a family meal to celebrate two birthdays on a few friends recommendedations for the new management "The Manor House". The atmosphere was calm and the renovation work was suitable for the type of restaurant, clean and elegant. Unfortunately that was the only positives from the restaurant. First we ordered the cocktails which were way to strong with syrup so much that you couldn't taste alcohol. 
We were the only table in for lunch service on a Saturday and I'm not surprised why. We were offered 2 times for drinks before the starters arrived which took about 20 minutes! The waiter/manager was much more focussed on a photographer they had in to advertise the place and trying to get the staff's attention was very difficult.
When the 4 small plates finally arrived which were about £9 a piece, one of them had two potato croquettes. Another the two chewy and bland pork bon-bons were on top of a pile of what I could only describe as nacho cheese from the cinema. Tastless and underwhelming the food was over ambitious which reflects the menu which currently has European, Japanese, Greek and English dishes. Certainly style over substance, the dishes were well presented but lacked everything else. 
We then had fish and chips (which was the only edible main); two lamb and chicken mixed kebabs and chicken and waffles.

When the food came we were offered no condiments or more drinks and there was no salt or pepper on any of the tables. The kebabs could not be separated from their skewers as they were so dry. The meat tasted like it had been under a heat lamp all morning. This was served alongside undercooked fries, shop bought pita breads and an undressed Italian style salad. 
The chicken and waffles was again dry and very tasteless. It came with two supermarket waffles reheated, a fried slab of chicken and a drizzle of syrup. These dishes were not only overpriced but three of us couldn't eat them. During this time the original waiter/manager heard our complaints and said the chef will cook more kebabs for us. What felt like an eternity after that a new waitress who had just started her shift came over and asked about the situation. She was very polite and courteous and took it upon herself to rectify the situation by not allowing us to pay for three main courses as we had hardly touched them. The manager was so focussed on the photographer and forgot about us after that, we did not see him and no goodbye or apologies were given except from the waitress. We decided to pay and leave early as by then everyone else from the staff team were ignoring the guests.
Three of us left the restaurant hungry and all of us left extremely disappointed.

Inedible Food, uncaring staff and slow service

Thought we would give the place a try following new ownership and re-branding to 'The Manor House' wish we hadnt bothered! Menu was shocking, no choice unless you want a tapas style evening.

When Food finally arrived it was under cooked and tasteless, when our food arrived it was slammed on the table no condiments offered. We ended up leaving half of the meal. When asked how our visit was when we asked for the bill we were met by an abrupt gentleman who i could only imagine is the manager saying we should have said something!! 

Hardly anyone in for a Saturday evening, and i can see why!!

Poor start - doubt it will get any better with current owners and staff in place! Think il stick to the other establishments in the area!!

Awful Food shocking service - AVOID

Stopped here for a night. Breakfast fantastic... staff great....beautiful room...will be going to stay again. Very nice hotel. Nothing was a problem as I can’t climb stairs very well at all and the gentleman looked after us. Fantastic service.

Went for Sunday lunch to say the food was poor is an under statement Mashed potato with more lumps than mash. Lamb shank that was obviously cooked in a microwave with gravy and you had to fight the meat of the bone. Steak pie with puff pastry that had all the puff taken out of it and the meat dried up. Somebody on a table asked for a sirlion steak and they told they didn't have sirlion so they gave him braising steak cooked like a normal steak which was inedible. Generally speaking the whole experience was a joke, if they had employed Mrs Overall to wait on us it would have at least been something to laugh about, sadly not and I don't think the chef is very far through his work experience trial. Avoid this place.

Dreadful food

I wouldn’t recommend the beeches, the only positive thing I could say is the young waiting staff are lovely. 
Management clueless with dated views, the lady who cooks the food is clueless and presents food that looks like it’s from the 70’s.
Rubbish menu, food had no flavour what so ever. Management were quick to slate the owners choices and blamed the quality of the food on the suppliers the owner uses.
We sat in the conservatory and could constantly hear the microwave going clearly it’s their main source of preparing the food they send out. This was Reflected in the floppy veg. We sent back one mean it wasn’t even worthy of eating the other one was just ok at best. 
Being local we had truly hoped for a good experience as we eat out often. I would have had a better meal at the local pub where food is no home cooked and doesn’t claim to be unlike the beaches who state home cooked yet serve microwaved frozen rubbish !

Friendly , helpful staff nothing was too much. The room was fine comfortable and clean and the price, which was alrteady very reasonable  included continental breakfast, cooked was additional, though we did not see any evidence of one.
The meal in the evening was fine and very reasonably priced as was the beer.

Visited for the first time for a friends birthday after reading some positive reviews. The food was average, we all finished our food apart from the gravy that was so thick it wouldn't pour out of the gravy boat which was a shame as it made the lamb shank dry. We didn't expect fine dinning. The place was extremely quiet with no staff to hand and the atmosphere was none existant. It actually felt we were all alone. However, I didn't feel I wanted to complain over slight issues as we did not leave hungry and luckily my friends and I have a great sense of humour to make anywhere as good as we can. Now for the real issue...I am utterly astounded at the attitude of management and a particular staff member over social media in regards to peoples negative reviews! I assist my husband in running a business and never in my life would I dream of responding to my customers in the manner I have just read online. Everyone using your establishment has the right to their personal opinion and each person will have a different level of disapointment. As a business and an employee you have shown complete disrepect to people within your own community who are paying you for a service. Your own opinion should be kept behind closed doors and I would advise that moving forward perhaps your staff and their manner should be reviewed. Secondly the advice I would give is possibly consider a suggestions page for all the negative reviews and positive reviews to review in a monthly staff and management meeting. Perhaps this may assist in correcting the errors within the service you are providing instead of actually adding fuel to the fire when people have paid hard earned money. Most people would be annoyed and at the end of the day you are paid and with that you should be doing your job professionally.

Constructive criticism

Booked for Christmas Lunch, sitting at 14:30 - or so we thought! Arrived on time to be part of a large group waiting. The previous sitting were still sat at the tables so there was no where to go. The bar area is too small for us all to fit into so most people ended up waiting in the foyer. 
Finally got a table at about 15:20 however was concerned as we could clearly see an active carvery. Nowhere in the menu we had PREORDERED our food from did it mention the main course was in fact a carvery.
A very nice waiter came to take our orders for starters. First problem, we have preordered, why did they actually need to take an order? It seems the preorders were irrelevant so why were they taken?
At this point we asked to speak to someone in charge. Eventually one of our party went and found the manager and brought him back to our table. We spoke about our concerns and was offered the meal for no charge, all we would need to pay for is our drinks. We accepted this offer as at this point there was really no other option.
The starters were nothing special, soup was only lukewarm, how hard is it to keep soup hot? The duck liver parfait was horrible.
On to the carvery mains, beef and gammon were ok. No one tried the turkey as there appeared to be very little left at this point. The veg were tasteless and overcooked.
We had decided to go asap and left after the main course.
I will say the waiting staff were doing their best with the situation they were in and we taking the criticism from customers with good grace and kept smiling thoughout. The lady behind the bar (who appeared to be working alone) was rushed off her feet but never complained and just kept serving.
This was clearly a screw up by management. Too many people booked in, not enough space between sittings and hiding the fact it was a carvery.
As I pointed out, we were given our food for free, hence my review of 2 stars rather than 1. The carvery was at best, an average Sunday carvery and not the sort of thing you expect for Christmas lunch in a hotel.
Needless to say, we will not be returning here.
