I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel, not far from the Emirates Arena, where I was attending the World Indoor Athletics Champs (I was travelling alone).  I found the Burnside Hotel and booked in, not really knowing what to expect.  The girl on the phone was very helpful, and told me that it was just a 5 minute walk from Burnside Station.  The hotel was modern looking (looked a bit like a motel).  The room was clean and functional, and has a very lively bar with a good atmosphere, which is clearly popular with locals.   During my two night stay, the staff were all fabulous and very helpful, assisting me with calling cabs, etc.  The walls were a bit thin (I could hear the bloke in the next room snoring, but maybe he was the world's loudest snorer!). But other than that it was great. 

I would definitely use the hotel again and recommend it.

Great little, and reasonably priced hotel in Glasgow.

Poor service from most of the female staff in particular the receptionist who couldn't be less customer friendly if she tried, amazed she's in a customer facing role. Attitude and facial expressions that say 'you're disturbing me'  was in for a party and young female staff member was argumentative about everything, as a supplier I was told to plug an extension into the one socket that worked not great for running 8 plugs from.  Maybe a better idea to spend a couple of quid and get the socket fixed.

Great meal and atmosphere. Staff Great and friendly. Would recommend definitely.  was lovely and warm. Its so nice to be treated well.  Steak pie was lovely and warm. Going to visit again Many thanks Robert.

Christmas night out, there were many issues with this venue.

When we walked into the designated room, the music was deafening, turn it down a couple of octaves, you couldn’t hear yourself think!
The meal, well what can I say about the meal? Nothing much! It came out in batches, starter, some of us had finished theres before the rest of our table were served, main, the same, the honey roast ham was inedible, sprouts, pots were like bullets, carrots stone cold! The only good thing was the ice cream. Luke warm coffee for afters!

Toilets. 5 cubicles in use, 4 without toilet paper, water freezing,  hand drier blowing cold air, also the toilets themselves were like walking into a freezer!

The Burnside Hotel used to be THE place to go. Now its time to up your game! Sorry

Will think about a return visit

When we went into the room initially the bed was not dressed , the bed sheets were just thrown on top . On further inspection the pillow cases were dirty with what looked like makeup. We made staff aware and they came in and changed them promptly and said they would have a word with housekeeping. 

Another thing to be aware of is that there are no plugs beside bed to charge your phone in , there is one behind the headboard but it is very awkward to get at and cable would not reach. 

There was no remote for tv in room but our relatives were staying in room next to us and we shared the remote between us  as it worked for other tv . 

Overall a pleasant stay and staff were very friendly and helpful but the cleanliness needs to be worked on 

Housekeeping not up to scratch, friendly staff

I recently attended an outdoor concert in Central Glasgow, the Burnside Hotel represented fantastic value with a large car park and on minutes from Burnside rail station for a short hop into Glasgow Central for only £2.90 return.  The hotel was easy access from J2 of the M74 too, but the hotel itself was in a nice residential area though next to the rail line, no issue with trains though as they don't run overnight.
The best thing about this hotel was the staff, all of whom were courteous and welcoming, the breakfast was superb and only £8.95.
The other plus was the hotel & rooms were spotless, especially the en suite bathroom with a hot powerful shower, very welcome after a soaking in the rain at the concert! 
The only minor negative were the mattresses in our twin room being a bit lumpy, though they were clean with protectors.
Overall a fantastic budget hotel and a great base for visiting Glasgow city.
I will use this hotel again.

Great budget Hotel

I travel the UK staying in various hotels for business and you will never come across a nicer, pleasant, courteous, and helpful family of staff, nothing is ever to much trouble for them and a special mention for Sharon that always makes you feel welcome. Food is always excellent and the variety of choices from a varied menu is a welcome change.

Praise & Thanks

I have been many times and do enjoy the pub and food but I feel I finally need to suggest getting craft beer. Not sure why they don't. Not even a can or a bottle. Get with the times! Tennants is on the road out. Brewdog and Beavertown, surely it's not hard to get a tap or two installed from one of them.

My wife, daughter and I attended this hotel after being at a funeral at the Linn Crematorium. The car park was ample, walkway was clear and partly covered as you near the entrance. Our after funeral service was held in a small function room just off the reception area. Staff were attentive and friendly. The soup was warm and tasty as was the sausage rolls and the sandwiches were well presented and varied. Overall a nice venue and worth booking.

From the Linn to the Burnside!

Starting the festivities right with drinks with friends. Myself and some friends attended the bar for some festive drinks and fun on Christmas eve. We had a great time and where definitely in the mood for Christmas. Our service was great. The barman, Alan was polite, funny and great service. He was happy to help us and really added to the good vibe.
