the owner is a delightful man.
the facility is a 500 year old stately home refurbished wonderfully but traditionally.
we stayed just one night but i wish it could have been longer.
i cant say enough good things.

Just home from Sniperley hall, received a warm, friendly welcome from Jim the owner, we wanted to visit Durham and found this a nice and relaxing place to stay. We made the 10 min. walk to the Park and Ride and made good use of that for our 2 days, it was £8 back in a taxi one evening as the P&R finishes at 7pm.
The breakfast is first class,all the ingredients are fresh and of good quality, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and there is nothing here to complain about, would definately stay here again in the future.

ENJOYABLE STAY

We were looking for a hotel in the centre of Durham but glad we chose this one it was easy to park and nearby the park and ride, as once in Durham town centre it seemed impossible to park. The location was nice and quiet, and the owner extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and bright, including the bathroom, and the breakfast excellent..

Nothing to fault this place, unless you want to walk to any nearby facilities as there aren't any. We did have a decent meal in recommended pub which was a short drive away, but it wasn't that easy to find 

Overall excellent value for money and location to visit Durham.

Just outside Durham but close to park and ride facilities. We were a bit late in arriving so did not bother going into town to eat, instead getting something from the Co-op which is about 5 minutes drive away.

The place is lovely, set back from the road up a long drive. Although modernised, it boasts many period features. A lovely friendly welcome from the owner. The whole place has a great sense of spaciousness and the room was the same, with plenty of room for everything, a massive bed and everything else you could want. There was an honesty bar outside the room with beer and wine. We didn't use this as we had brought our own wine, but it's a great idea.

Breakfast  in the morning was fantastic, cooked to order using locally sourced artisan bacon and sausages and eggs from the on-site hens. The full English was a good couple of notches above what you often get, thanks to the quality of the ingredients.

Overall, an excellent place to stay in thge Durham area.

Great location just outside Durham lovely ambience,great welcoming were upgraded to room 4 wow,breakfast was lovely great hosts would stay again in a instant,park ride 5 minutes away £2 each all day till 7 Mon sat we were able to check in at about 12 ish great surprise
