If you're looking for a 5 star place then don't come here, if you're looking for a place to rest your head for a low cost then go here. It was a place we stayed for onward travel to BlairDrummonds safari and it was exactly what it says on the tin. Don't expect luxury but expect a comfy bed and a hot shower. The remotes were programmed wrong but it's all an experience. We stayed here and would again as it is just a place to rest your head. 

A modest place but with the cost

I spent a terrible night there. It was snowing and there was no global heating. The owner knew it when I made the reservation a few hours before arriving and didn't say anything. She should have removed the add while fixing the heating.
The room was indeed freezing, and it was snowing outside. The blanket was thin and smelled like frying oil. I couldn't sleep.
There was a bathroom but it was even more freezing, with no water in the shower (even if I guess it would have been cold water). 
The house seems to be abandonned, except for the room. When you look in the other rooms, you can see that they are empty, except for a few pieces of broken furniture here and there.
The person who welcomed me did it really fast. She showed me the room and went back running to watch TV in her room. I had to ask for toilet paper.
When I left of the morning, there was nobody. I had to let the key in the stairs. The woman had dissapear, maybe because I wanted to talk about a partial refund? And I stayed stuck on the sloped parking lot because of the snow.
A bad night in a place that could be nice, with a beautiful view, but badly maintained and barely occupied.
And I would add that the wi-fi is terrible, like i takes 30 seconds to send a text, and there is no phone network.

Really disappointing!

Booked into the Carronbridge Guest House last minute. £55 for the night as we had the dog with us. Place is in a lovely area with outstanding views, quiet and definitely off the beaten track. Greeted warmly by the owner and her daughter who were both really nice and welcoming. The room was an ok size, bathroom a bit small but seemingly well-decorated. We headed into Denny for some tea and came back. Unfortunately on closer inspection the room was not as nice as we had hoped, the tap and toilet water come out yellow, and we had to buy some water from a co-op to wash and brush our teeth with, shower seemed ok but we didn’t want to risk it. Amenities in the room were poor- TV remotes didn’t work, cups for tea were dusty and we had to wipe them down ourselves. The view from our room was of the roof which was a shame because of the place we were in. The general areas were not as clean as they could have been. In the morning we couldn’t find anyone for check-out so we just had to leave, and couldn’t report the problems to the owners. The place has a lot of potential and the family running it seem lovely so it was a real shame, but won’t be coming back. With no breakfast as well I’m not sure £55 is worth it. We have stayed in nicer and cheaper places so far this holiday. 

Not sure it’s worth the money...

We needed a place to stay near Stirling for a football match the following day, and this was the cheapest place we could find. We're two male friends, so we just needed a single bed each and an en-suite bathroom, with breakfast included, and this is what we got.

When we were driving, we wondered where we had booked ourselves into as it seemed like it was literally in the middle of nowhere, but we arrived and the views were awesome.

The breakfast was excellent, but it was described as a light breakfast. Basically not a full English/Scottish breakfast, which is fine, I'm not really into that anyway. I had toast, a bacon butty and some scones. I was definitely full.

The internet connection was pretty awful and there was zero phone signal. I guess you don't go to this guest house for internet connection, but it wasn't really a problem, we spent the evening in Stirling then came back to goto sleep. There are TVs in the room so we got to watch Match of the day before going to sleep.

The host was excellent.

Exactly what we were looking for and more.

The host was lovely and really helpful. Bed was super comfortable. Facilities were clean and shower pressure was excellent and temperature superb. Room temperature was great and adjustable. Great range for breakfast. Only complaint was the wifi did not reach our room..
