I enjoyed the fact that there was an air of tranquility about the place. The staff went out of their way to be of assistance. The room was spacious and the grounds delightful and I was encouraged to explore. I will definitely stay there again.

A Peaceful Place To Hang Your Hat

I stayed one night at Hedley Lodge and wished I was staying for longer. The guesthouse is lovely. I had a very spacious bedroom nicely fitted and a bath which was a luxury after a tiring day. I was really impressed with the quality of the service nothing was too much trouble. I had dinner and the meal was very good. The breakfast menu was excellent although I did not have anything cooked myself. I thought the cost was very reasonable and would certainly like to return to this guesthouse again.

A Really Relaxing Guesthouse with Wonderful Staff

We visited as a large family for a wedding in a village near to Belmont abbey. A very warm welcome from the staff and a fantastic clean room (9) 

Breakfast very good, a decent selection. The bar had a wide selection also.

Beautiful abbey  bells ringing, lodge clean  meals basic but nice.beds quite comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. A nice quite stay and easy to find. The bar and restaurant close at 8 o clock though.

Lovely peaceful friendly place...

This place is underrated on booking.com 
Set just outside of Hereford town bit on the Belmont abbey site and 5 mins drive 20 min walk to a big tescos  it has great parking and free access to Belmont abbey.

The price is amazing considering the size and facilities and the great breakfast included.
The room 4 we had was large with a good tv and free wifi and good supply of biscuits tea and coffee . The fixtures and fittings are a tad old style but they are clean and in good working order. 
The reception was informative and friendly and if checking in late you can access the premises later . 

The breakfast was so lovely , beautiful table laid out for us 2 and full service , the food was hearty . 

Service and staff were fantastic.

Belmont Abbey was peaceful and lovely both inside and out .

Hidden Gem Hedley Lodge

Just a few minutes from Hereford City centre the Lodge is an ideal location offering large rooms, very good breakfast, peaceful surroundings and helpful staff. You can walk the grounds and visit the abbey. Excellent value for money and it will be our base for future visits.

Peaceful and an excellent breakfast

Belmont Abbey is a working (Catholic) Benedictine monastery. One of the values enjoined in their Rule is hospitality. Hedley Lodge is in the Abbey precincts. That sounds more romantic than it really is. The welcome is certainly warm and the en-suite rooms spacious and comfortable. But it’s an unappealing modern accommodation block reminiscent of a university hall of residence. There is ample fare on offer at meals, but it’s dull compared to the more imaginative quality & wholesomeness you’ll find in many a religious house or retreat. However, there are lovely prospects of distant Hereford Cathedral across the fields. And the 19th century Abbey Church of Belmont is a fine building by Pugin. Here you can experience beautiful worship, the singing of plainchant and a deep peace of the soul. That helps make up for workaday meals.

Among the Benedictines

The place is beautiful very quiet after opposite NHS has closed for the Day. The Bells do ring out so if you don't like the bells this is not for you.
The rooms are clean and ours were spacious.Unfortunately the mattresses were not good ( there were mattress toppers on thank goodness)and too short for the bases, these really need replacing. The expelairs are extremely noisy,so if someone uses their toilets in the night the noise wakes you up.
The Staff are friendly and polite,unfortunately also forgetful. We booked a twin and turned up to a double. On requesting the beds be remade we were assured someone would see to it. So at 8.30 that evening after a very nice member of staff found the linen cupboard keys, we ended up splitting and making our own twin beds!
The food, well all I can say is ,that if there wasn't a microwave in the kitchen the Chef would be lost. Average to poor meals,and an ok breakfast,the poached eggs were superb though ,but the rest was average.
The place needs a good update ,the solar panel were practically slipping off the roof and were being held on with rope.

Stayed here for 3 nights as my company booked for me. Have to admit I wouldn't want to stay here again and I would have gone somewhere else if I could of. First of all the staff were great. They were friendly and accommodating. Downside is the hotel itself is very old and dated. It was almost like an old people's home, certainly had that kind of smell. The rooms were uncomfortable, you would sit on the bed and sink right down until you hit the wood underneath you. Bells ring at half 6 approximately every morning as you are directly next to a monastery, so isn't great when you have to be up for work shortly after.
Finally the worst part was probably the food. I only had one meal in here and didn't eat again because it was that bad.
