We stay at Premier Inn’s very often while travelling with work and I’ve never felt compelled to write a review until now. The staff at this hotel are fantastic. Both front of house and the restaurant staff were warm and welcoming. Julie on front of house.. you are AMAZING!!!  Thank you for looking after us and being so welcoming and helpful. The four of us drivers thought very highly of you! 

If we’re back in the area we’ll certainly be staying here again. Just make sure the pub closes at 11pm and not 10!!

Very friendly staff Ben who checked us in and Julie who was on the evening shift very friendly nothing was to much trouble had a pi wow for my husbands birthday which was a lovely touch room was clean and comfortable we also ate in the beefeater which was also friendly and accommodating Josh served us that evening very friendly young man altogether a very enjoyable stay Thankyou you all

Excellent stay

Excellent hidden away premier inn. I have stayed here a few times now and have always enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help, the rooms are clean and extremely comfortable and due to its location nice and quiet. I stay in Premier Inns throughout the country but this one is my favourite . 

A special mention to Robert and Julie who were very professional and welcoming today. They made me feel at ease which is great when you are away from home.

Hidden Gem

Brilliant stay,one of my best Premier inn stays,nothing was of any trouble,room was perfect,resturant was excellent,especially James the server/barman.
Meal was amazing,and breakfast the next morning also perfect. 
Well done Premier Inn 10/10

James is the Best

We booked this hotel thinking it’s in Chesterfield town, but was so pleasantly surprised that’s it’s actually in the countryside on the outskirts of town which was absolutely perfect for our planned walks and visiting Chatsworth house! It’s a very small Premier Inn and very informal and relaxed and clean, with beautiful views and great Beefeater next door, the Meal Deal is great value and the breakfast is cooked to order and not a buffet which was really nice! Staff really friendly, can’t remember all the names but Cat and Rob was really helpful especially to the older lady needing help in the morning! Lovely country hotel!

Little gem in the peaks

For personal reasons I visit this Premier Inn once a year, and what a great place it is too. Located in the Peak District it is ideally place for those that like walking and enjoying the glorious scenery. Bakewell is about 10 minutes away. The Beefeater next door is also great for grabbing an evening meal and the wonderful Premier In breakfast and I always get a warm welcome, and some of the staff even recognise me as  regular.

Another Great Stay

Stayed at the hotel on 3rd September.  Scott on reception was extremely friendly and efficient.  We had a noise problem with our room, asked him to change the room which he did without problem.  He was working in the bar in the evening and asked how the second room was, he is so nice and genuine.  It's easy to complain about bad service, but it's nice to compliment good service. Having stayed here in the past when the building had only recently been converted, we were incredibly disappointed and frustrated by our experience this summer.

We stayed for one night either side of a week up North, to break up the journey. The building and rooms were clean enough but it's all looking incredibly dated these days. I didn't have breakfast but my husband and parents did. Hot food is supposed to be cooked to order but the first time it seemed like it had been batch cooked and left to sit in the kitchen, though the second time it did seem to be cooked fresh. 

The main issues we had were while trying to actually sleep. The first night we were there, we were jolted awake at 5am by the fire alarm. Unsure of whether it was a genuine emergency or not, my husband and I hovered in the corridor along with a few other guests who were equally confused, when a flustered night manager came hurrying round the corner. He saw us stood by our door, asked if were in room [xx] and when we said we were asked us if we'd been smoking because the alarm had been set off in our room. Not whether or not we were okay or if we'd seen or smelled smoke in the room, just jumped straight to the assumption we'd set it off by breaking the law. For the record, we're both non-smokers and were fast asleep when the alarm went off. We told him as much, and he proceeded to walk straight into our room to check that for himself - again, not to check electrical outlets or the area around the sensor, he was clearly checking for evidence of smoking. The alarm stopped briefly, before going off again, and by the time it was finally off properly it was gone half 5 and my anxiety levels were through the roof. There was no apology to any of the guests for the distress, nor any to us for the accusation or invasion of privacy. 

The following week we were in a different part of the building and found ourselves overlooking the rear courtyard between the rooms and the back of the restaurant, where they have what I suspect is their industrial air conditioning unit. It was so loud we couldn't leave the windows open and even with them closed it was still loud enough to cause a disturbance. This was particularly stifling as the air conditioning units in the room were also incredibly loud, so we'd turned them off in both rooms to be able to sleep. Except at 11pm, both units turned themselves back on, waking us yet again. In both rooms we struggled to get them to turn off again, spending several minutes thinking the units were broken and we'd have to go down to reception. Eventually they did turn off, but my husband and I were too stressed out to go back to sleep so were trying to wind ourselves back down when drunken guests came laughing down the corridor.

By the morning we were all so wound up and fed up we just wanted to get out of there rather than complain, so we left and my Dad submitted a request for the Good Night Guarantee - which is supposed to guarantee a refund if you are not happy with your stay for any reason, and can be done online for up to 7 days. His request was refused, with claims such as the air conditioning units are supposed to turn themselves back on, and he should have complained at the time. It should be made clear that online requests go through Head office, so this was not the response of the local manager.

So not only were both stays absolutely awful, the company are refusing to uphold their Good Night Guarantee. Needless to say, we will never be staying at this location again and unfortunately our opinion of the company as a whole has been significantly impacted.

Will never stay here again

Fabulous hotel had a lovely weekend.Hotel clean and comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Beefeater right next door food was fabulous couldn’t fault it with friendly helpful staff . Considering there were new staff and a new manager in place within the last few days in the Beefeater unless we had been told we wouldn’t have known from the food and service we received .Large free car park quiet location we loved the whole weekend so much so that we have rebooked for next year.Can’t wait to go back.

Fabulous hotel

Great hotel, friendly staff, lovely pub next door with great food and a great price. 
We stayed for a wedding a mile away and needed a cab to get there, as its out of Chesterfield there is a fixed price of £15, but this was booked for us by reception and the pricing explained beforehand which was great.
