Unbelievable back drops and views from the property.Fantastic staff and food and excellent walking in the surrounding areas.Cannot recommend enough this little gem of a place.In summer the garden must be stunning.We will definitely return.

Excellent stay at The Pheasant.  Traditional coaching inn with welcoming atmosphere and staff. Spotlessly clean, quiet, comfortable room with countryside view. Bath only, no shower but this did not detract from my stay.  Lovely meal in the cosy bar, with welcoming fire.  Very helpful and personable staff who couldn't do enough. Excellent breakfast cooked to order.  Will stay again when in area. Excellent.

This is the second time I have stayed at The Pheasant. Lovely room, fantastic food and great location. Friendly staff too.Only negative is no draws or full-length hanging space for clothes in the room. If I’d been staying a few days I’d have missed this. As it was I could live out of my suitcase for one night. Would definitely book there again and recommend this as a lovely place to stay. Thank you.

Booked a two day break at The Pheasant and enjoyed the experience so much that we booked an extra night (wish it could have been more !). The hotel had all the old world charms of a coaching inn but brought up to date whilst still maintaining warmth, comfort and ambience. Food was outstanding - excellent choice (including gluten free options) and generous portions cooked to perfection. Wonderful staff - especial thanks to Heather, and Angie for help and advice;  however all the staff deserve praise. We are now going to book another stay in December.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food and drink excellent. One minor criticism is that the mattress on the bed was quite firm and could have been more comfortable. Apart from this, a very nice place to stay or eat

We stayed here for 1 night but would have liked to stay longer. It is very convenient for Kirkby Lonsdale and the surrounding area. The bed was really comfy and the room had everything you could need. We had a lovely dinner, reasonably priced and in the morning a really hearty breakfast with plenty of options. All of the staff were friendly and cheerful, can highly recommend.

Great room , wonderful food , great service . I did not need more.

I phoned to say I was going to be late on arrival. (10pm) and the first thing I was asked was if they could do me some sandwiches for when I arrived. Great service from the chap who was working the bar. Food and drink ready for when I walked in.Excellent breakfast.

Great stay at The Pheasant

Warmth, charm and comfort

As part of a cycle tour we all arrived drenched. Heather and co were astonishingly helpful. My case was carried to my room, my wet stuff dried on their boiler. Beds were comfortable, food (especially porridge) excellent, served promptly. Absolutely top notch place to get rested and dry, ready for next days cycling

Great stay

What a beautiful location with views across the fields, being in lambing season made it even more picturesque. well situated for exploring the local area either on foot or by car. We had a lovely two night, midweek stay at the Pheasant, lovely comfortable rooms, very good food and very friendly and helpful staff and at a very reasonable price. I hope we get the chance to go back, I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a break in the Yorkshire Dales

wonderful relaxing stay, quality food and service.

We recently stayed at the Pheasant for 2 nights and had a really relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Our bedroom was very spacious and comfortable, with an excellent bathroom with bath and excellent walk in shower. Breakfast both mornings was fantastic as was the evening meal we ate on our first night. The only drawback was the bar where we ate (as we had our dog with us) was extremely quiet , so lacking in atmosphere. All staff were super helpful and friendly and we hope to come back soon.

Fabulous country pub!

We stayed at the Pheasant Inn for one night and cannot fault it at alls The staff were all very friendly and super helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We booked into the restaurant for our dinner which exceeded all expectations. The food was immense and one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We would definitely recommend this hotel and if travelling this way again would most certainly re-book. Thank you all very much.

Amazing stay with the best food

We booked 2 rooms B&B , both were clean, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good, staff friendly, evening restaurant was also good. 
The main criticism, was that the curtains in the room at the front of the inn did not have any blackout lining, as a result it was very bright at 6am, waking us up and unable to return to sleep.

Overall good, I would return.

A great place to stop

Nothing to dislike, the hotel staff were very accomodating to my needs and the food was very tasty and the choice was excellent. Nothing was a bother to the staff and the room was perfect for me. Clean and very tidy, although the shower and toilet were a former cupboard it was decorated very nicelybut would have preferred the washhand basin in the shower room. Overall a very nice experience.
