Very interesting course in lovely surroundings.  Ian Pittaway, the tutor, was knowledgable and entertaining. as well as being an amazing musician.  The lunch was very generous and the variety ensured everyone was catered for, from vegans, to vegetarians, to meat eaters.  Specialist diets were also accommodated and everyone was well fed.  The house is quirky and full of history and the owner could not be more pleasant.  

Early Music Workshop Day

We held my wifes 'xx' birthday party at Wykes Manor. With guests from 2 to 80+ if was a superb event.  Emma the owner organised everything and with home made bread cakes savouries sweets etc we were treated Royally.  The Manor is mentioned in the Doomsday Book and after hundreds of years it has not lost its historic charm.  Remote and peaceful with every facility including its own chapel this is a venue not to be missed.  Simply superb country living at its charming best. Brilliant.

Not to be missed

We booked this as a b & b but were pleasantly surprised to find it was a retreat , very beautiful area in the middle of nowhere. Lots of wildlife and picturesque scenery. The house was a period property, very quirky and unusual . We were in a twin room in the attic. It was up  a very steep wooden stair case. The heart of the house was the kitchen. The lady owner was so friendly and helpful, with home made soup and a constant supply of hot drinks and biscuits available. Lots of information regarding the history of the house . However the bathroom and toilet were quite a distance from the bedroom we were in and down the steep wooden staircase. The lighting wasn’t great with no switch at the top so to use the loo in the night was a real worry. The house had its own chapel in the grounds as well as huts for meditation. The actual house with the peaceful approach to life was a welcome change, however the facilities weren’t suitable in our opinion. 

Overnight stay. 

Wykes Manor is not a hotel but rather a bed and breakfast inside a very old Manor House. 
The room we were in hosted a range of antique furniture, a four poster bed and various antiques hung on the wood panneled walls. 
Being an old property the amenities are limited to retain character but you have access to a modern toilet/bath/shower inside the main house as well as various electric sockets. 
There is no tv/radio though so you can either sleep or read to entertain yourself in the evening, this wasn’t an issue for us as we were using the place as somewhere to sleep whilst visiting surrounding areas. 
For this reason I’d say this accommodation would be best suited for a couple or solo travellers. 

The hostess is very attentive and happy to provide advice or conversation as well as cups of tea.
Breakfast was whatever was being cooked but was always a healthy option to start the day.

The manor is located on a narrow country road with no lighting for the surrounding fields and ditches so drive carefully. 

Overall it is a very clean and quiet house and should definitely be considered if passing through the area.

Very accommodating and unique b&b

I really enjoyed my all too-brief visit to Wyke’s Manor  over the latter part of the festive holiday - the hospitality  was terrific.

For a birdwatcher (such as me), the location is great because it is relatively close to two of the best habitats in Lincolnshire - the RSPB’s Frampton Marsh reserve and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust’s Willow Tree Fen.

The grounds of Wyke’s Manor are also rich in garden birds ( including woodpeckers and owls).

just a 10-minute walk away is a small, private wetland (access by arrangement) which, I suspect, is a magnet for migrating sandpipers and other waders in spring and autumn.

Altogether very impressed.
