Amazing gorgous Georgian house decorated superbly and eco friendly.  Hostes were obligiing to every request - have a plug for my car and even a very late check out!  The location is perfect - far enough away to feel you are away - but only a stones throw from the beautiful city.

Will go back in a heartbeat!

Great city visit

Great place to stay when visiting Bath -especially with a dog.
Close to the centre of town -15minutes walk -downhill- with bustop if needed just outside the property. Made to feel welcome by the hosts and the best breakfasts -cooked to order -Ive had in a long time.

Dog Friendly

We stayed at Bloomfield House for a weekend and we would highly recommend to friends & family. Karen & Rob greeted us on arrival, they gave us so much helpful information on good restaurants around Bath, the best route to walk into town & a map of where the christmas chalets would be - exactly what we needed as we didn’t know the area at all! 
Breakfast the next morning was lovely & Karen & Rob were fantastic hosts. Our room was warm  & cosy with tea/coffee facilities. 
We walked into Bath city centre on Saturday which took about 15/20mins. Its a lovely walk down and some nice pubs & cafes on the way. We stopped in the Bear for a half way stop! 
Christmas Markets are so pretty & spread out across the city centre, however be prepared on a Saturday as there are crowds of people but we didn’t mind as it was all part of the christmas spirit! 
Overall, a fantastic stay and we will definately come back again, thanks Karen & Rob.

Visiting Bath

Our celebratory weekend at Bloomfield house was amazing from start to finish. We were welcomed with smiles and open arms from the owner and waggy tails from the canine residents. The house and gardens are beautiful, the rooms are very well appointed, clean and comfortable and the decanter of port was especially welcome! We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent here and only hope we can repeat the experience.

Weekend wonder

We stayed two nights in Bloomfield House and were pleased in every respect.  We had a car but didn't use it because we'd walk 15-20 minutes into the center of Bath, and on the way back (all uphill) would take an Uber.  The rooms are charming and comfortable, and the hosts--Karen and Rob--are congenial and attentive.  Very good, full English breakfasts, plus lively conversation.  Had a marvelous dinner at the Nepalese restaurant, Yak Yeti Yak in town.  The room rate was higher than we're used to but it seems Bath is expensive generally.

Charm, Comfort, and Convenience

We were originally looking for somewhere to stay near to Bath centre that had charging for our electric car. I was in the city for a conference, but the venue didn't offer that; and as we stayed extra days post-conference to make a holiday of it, it was important we had somewhere to re-charge. Free charging point at Bloomfield House was the first indicator of what turned out to be a little gem of a place to stay. (As it turns out, Bloomfield House is on a good bus route, so we didn't need the car after all. Walk into the city first thing was nice as well, though walk back is a little more uphill after a long day seeing the sights.)

Our stay was great. We were blessed with good weather, which probably helped, but even if not I'm sure we would have still had a great time. Karen and Rob, our hosts, were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, and we had some great chats over breakfast talking about all sorts of things, putting the world to right. Even got some tips on making poached eggs, which I have never quite mastered; Karen's were great. Timings on breakfast were whatever suited us, so conference days nice and early, and rest of the week a little later.

Room was charming, with period decor and just the right size. Bed was super comfortable, and had some really good sleep. No lift, but we were on first floor so not a major issue.

Pets in the house, so if very allergic to animals you may want to think carefully. But as total cat-people ourselves was not an issue. We played with the dogs in the back garden, and stroked the cats when they graced us with their presence. Lovely animals, well behaved yet affectionate.

Didn't get to eat in all the recommended places on Karen's list for evening meals, but Yak Yeti Yak was a good choice we did get to sample. Will have to go back to try some of the others for sure.

If my conference happens again next year, will definitely be booking here and hopefully make an even longer stay of it.

Chose for the electric charging; would choose again for it all.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Bloomfield House. My friend, who lives in Bath, suggested it so I'm indebted to her. It's conveniently located - close enough to walk into the city as well as do sightseeing in the area. The building is beautiful with multi-stories and adequate sized rooms with amenities. The proprietors are delightful and very helpful. The breakfast was fantastic - took orders and served several delicious courses. They even had brewed decaf coffee which is a rarity in other countries. The lovely garden area was also delightful. I highly recommend this property. 

Great B&B in Bath, England

We managed to find a last-minute cancellation and were not expecting much. Bloomfield House is on a hill overlooking Bath, a good 20 minutes (albeit pleasant) walk from the centre. First impressions were poor - faded paintwork on the exterior, a locked front door and a couple of doorbells without names giving the impression of an apartment block. Entering the building however opened up a whole new world, with quirky decor, lovely big old rooms, artworks abounding. The walk into town is pleasant. The road is steep. There is a bus service. Our room was small but adequate, the bed very comfortable. Complimentary sherry was appreciated. We got down to breakfast the following morning to find around 10 people in the dining room - amazing as we'd not heard a thing of other guests during the night. Breakfast was excellent in a lovely room overlooking the gardens. Talking to the proprietors it was obvious they put heart and soul into making Bloomfield House a great experience for their guests. They are strongly committed to environmental responsibility. There is an electric vehicle charging point and numerous signs of good practice from the choice of loo paper through to genuinely locally sourced food including lovely bread from The Thoughtful Bread Company. A great stay. Would definitely return. 

Excellent if you don't mind the trip into town

Pros: Quaint room with four-poster bed, as advertised.
Cons: The owner's dog attacked our dog in the lobby. We understand dogs can be unpredictable, but if there is any question of a dog being unfriendly, he/she should not be hanging out in the lobby (especially alone and unsupervised). What's worse is that the owner actually lectured me when I scooped up my dog to save him. She said I was encouraging him to seek attention when being attacked in the future. Her dog, at least three times the size of mine, had my dog pinned to the ground, and my dog was yelping. She also told us that her dog "usually doesn't make contact." Usually? Does this mean this has happened before? To make matters worse, once I brought my dog out to the car, the owner continued to talk to me (once my husband left to gather the rest of our things) about how I needed to be more "confident" when my dog was attacked. How about you not let your dog attack other dogs? All of this happened as we were leaving, and there was virtually no effort on the owner's part to part with us on a positive note. A heartfelt apology would have been nice, but we did not receive one.
