We stayed at the lodge for one night in July. Firstly, they were unaware of our arrival and the accommodation wasn't ready. Secondly, there was no heating and it was freezing and we had to sit with our coats on. There were no curtains at some of the windows and no TV. There is also an odd arrangement where you are sharing the lodge with the on site staff, when we were under the impression you had the whole lodge to yourself. Staff live in what was originally the upstairs of the lodge and access for staff to your accommodation is via a door which is locked on their side, not yours (see photo), very unsettling. Health and safety is extremely worrying i.e. the smoke alarm is stuck up with a plaster (see photo). There are much nicer safer warmer places locally for a lot less money.

Awful Avoid

I wouldn't stay anywhere else in this region.

The reason you are in Glencoe is on your doorstep. We saw lots of deer on the property itself, a red squirrel, a couple of friendly ponies next door you can pet, there's sitting out by the river with mountain views, the walks through the forest to the pub, the 10 minute stroll up to Hagrid's Hut location, I walked up the Pap of Glencoe from the front door too (you need to walk 20 minutes down the road to the access point though, but there's a path off the road throughout).

Ok, so its not luxurious inside and the decor isn't bang up to date, but its well kitted out, has everything you need (though washing machine is communal and not in the cottage itself) and is comfortable and warm with powerful heating.

Best views are from west cottage, followed by south, followed by east.

Great stay

Glencoe, in all weathers, is absolutely magical. Signal Rock Glencoe Cottages are the perfect accommodation for a peaceful break from the rat race. But peaceful does not mean quiet, as you will hear the comforting and reassuring sound of the river that runs behind the cottages. Our family of 6 stayed at West cottage. The beds were super comfortable and spacious. The open plan sitting room/kitchen area had plenty of sofas for everyone to enjoy. The kitchen has just enough utensils and equipment for self catering, but if you have a favourite knife, I would suggest you take it with you. These cottages are quite secluded, so you feel very safe at all times. There is so much to do in this area, you don't need to go very far to fill a week of activities. Keren and Rob are almost always on site, ready to help with any queries. We had the most enjoyable paddle boarding lesson and session on the loch, provided by Keren. I sincerely hope we can go back soon.

A taste of paradise

I've stayed at Signal Rock Cottages twice now and both times have been completely magical! The cottages are tucked away in the most beautiful location with a little loch right on the driveway (great for morning swims or a paddle if you have a canoe/kayak!)

The cottages are so charming and very comfortable with underfloor heating and gorgeous views overlooking the River Coe. Our cottage had a little patio complete with a picnic bench, bbq, and firepit which we often enjoyed in the evenings.

There are so many fantastic walks to do without even having to jump in the car. We walked up the Pap of Glencoe and back to the accommodation in just 4 hours! I couldn't recommend this place enough :)

Perfect stay - absolutely gorgeous location!

Signal Rock Cottages are the best place to stay in Glencoe. Tucked away, surrounded by mountains and river, it's the perfect place to relax as well being close to lots of incredible outdoor activities. We took bikes and went on adventures following the wonderful cycle paths, went hiking in the mountains just on the doorstep and swam and paddled on the lochan right on the driveway - it really does have everything! 

The cottages have everything you need - comfy beds (even the bunk beds!), nice, hot showers, underfloor heating - perfect for a cosy stay :) and wonderful views. 

And Keren and Rob are so great - they were always there if we needed anything and always have a smile on their face. 100% coming back here again!

Soul restoring trip

We occopied West Cottage and it was every thing that we could have wished for, for an amazing family Christmas holiday (mountains, woods, sledging, tumbling rivers and waterfalls, deer, ponies and Eagles... yes we actually spotted two eagles, very exciting). We will return! The view from each of the cottages has left me feeling calm and exhillerated both at the same time... the perfect place to be still, and the perfect place to be active. I definitely wanted more than the week that we booked. I cannot wait for our next visit 😍😍😍. And Keren and Rob were the most perfect hosts, friendly, informative and welcoming.

Absolutely fantastic

Signal Rock Glencoe cottage is gorgeous.  Set in the thick forest and makes you feel you are a long way from anywhere, it is a very peaceful place to stay.  The beauty of this area is fantastic - lakes, mountains and forests.  It is only a short walk to the nearby little village which has a hotel to get a pub meal for dinner. But the Cottage is fully equipped with all the kitchen facilities, so you can save on buying a pub meal (where the prices are a bit steep).

This Cottage does have breakfast supplies, which the host kindly stocks up for you.  It was ambiguous to us whether there would be breakfast supplies, so we stopped by Fort William to buy some, which we didn't need to do.  The Cottage is very roomy, with a lounge and dinning room and large bathroom.  Each of the 2 bedrooms has its separate bathroom.  Would definitely recommend staying here.

And a tip - keep your eyes open as you enter the driveway and look to your left - the picture of the mountain landscape perfectly reflected in a lake is glorious. I took several pictures - not sharing on here because others have beaten me to it ! Lol

What a gem

Great budget bunk room with en-suite and microwave kettle etc. Magical pine forest surrounded by mountains. Great pub within 10 minute walk. Perfect stop over on your way up north or for a few days whilst exploring Glencoe area. Dog friendly als

Magical peaceful place

I had booked Signal Rock as I know the area very well. It was a birthday surprise for a friend's 50th this year. I hadn't seen her for over 30 years so wanted something special. It accommodates 4 - the cottage was located in a beautiful spot. Inside was warm & welcoming. Every morning we woke to freshly made bread - which was delicious by the way ! Even though my pals have headed back to London I will certainly come back for a stay with my husband. Thanks for an amazing stay.

Amazing stay .... Stunning scenery

I stayed here with my family of 4 and 2 friends. The cottage had plenty of space for all of us. It is located in a beautiful setting in the woods beside a river. It was spotless clean and very warm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. I have no hesitation recommending Signal rock to anyone
