This is not a place you would expect along the Lychian Way. More like a five stars hotel. Everything is top quality. A bit unusual with tens of cats on the common area and dogs outside. Tim will make you feel at home. I had to ask for price confirmation, as one would expect another price level for this kind of standard. (I paid 120 tl, low season March)

Wonderful!

We were walking the Lycian Way and Tim, the owner of the Pension was extremely helpful for our walk plans. Instead of staying 1 night we ended up staying 2 so we could shorten the next section. We did around 6 hours then Tim picked us up- we had a Turkish SIM card. He then dropped us off for the next leg when we left Moonstone.
Tim also gave us some good contacts for the walk beyond Kas. The owners of pensions on the LW seem to have regular contacts with each other which is useful for hikers.
Tim is an excellent and enthusiastic cook. We enjoyed the meals which had a British bent which we did enjoy for a change. The only negative was we found meal times a bit late -8.30 for dinner and breakfast- bit late for us.
Our room was nicely decorated and peaceful. Like many of our accommodation places in rural areas the water pressure was low in the shower.
Why I didn’t give a 5 star rating was because of the number of cats! I think that 30 (?) is excessive- sure it’s great to be animal lovers and support the animal shelters- but when accommodating guests it’s a bit much. We are not allergic to cats but do have ethical issues with cats killing native wildlife here in Australia so perhaps are less tolerant than others.
In the middle of summer it would be great to use the pool.

Extremely helpful host

We stayed at Moonstone House on the 9th of February 2018. The house feels and is luxurious compared to other bed and breakfasts in the region. The food was delicious and the bedrooms very comfortable.
Judith and Tim are the perfect hosts. Interesting to get a British opinion on Turkey, people and politics.
Highly recommended!

amazing place!

Visiting tim and judith has been a great time during out lycian trail! We had a great dinner prepared by tim and excellent dessert by judith. Swimming pool and animals atmosphere were so relaxing too! We strongly recommend to everyone especially for tired hikers like we were ;-)

Friendly animals, excellent cooking and deep relaxing

A very pleasant surprise awaits weary trekkers and travellers along the Lycian Way in the mountains above Kalkan, Turkey.  It is Moonstone House, constructed, owned, and operated by Tim Raynor and his partner Judith.  It is a cozy, modern Bed & Breakfast with all imaginable amenities.  I have never stayed in a more hospitable place.  The rooms are modern and immaculate, and the food and drink is good and plentiful.  Tim cooks it all himself with the freshest of local ingredients.  There is a refreshing swimming pool on a deck that offers spectacular sunsets.  Moonstone House also offers incomparable stargazing, given its altitude and lack of ambient light at night.  I was pleased to be able to spend two nights with Tim & Judith.  

Moonstone House gets 11 points out of 10!
