ESR is situated in the heart of taipei. Though rooms are very small but it has all the necessary amenities. Communication is awesome as MRT station is just below of the apartment. It has more than 300 rooms.

Nice location to stay

Would I stay here again? Yes, especially for a long term stay either with ESR or with the comparable iTaipei (same building complex).  I consider the service apartments as average but the location is excellent.

Location:

Again note that this is not the Global Mall Residence but the QSquare/Taipei Bus Station location. The location is convenient for most business and tourist activities in Taipei or New City Taipei.  See the QSquare  Mall website or TripAdvisor Q Square Mall reviews for more information on QSquare.

The QSquare Residences location provides easy access to shopping, restaurants, Taipei Bus station, and Taipei Main Station (MRT). Much is easily accessible without the need to go out into the sometimes less than desirable weather. Walk time to the MRT through the underground is approx 10 minutes. 

Getting there: 

Songshan Airport –1st time visitors, traveling more than one person, or someone with a large suitcase I recommend take a short taxi ride (approx 200 TWD) and not hassle with the MRT. If you have been to Taipei before and familiar with the MRT and the Taipei Main station, the MRT can be an inexpensive choice but the Wenhu line can be difficult due to the small train car size especially during busy period.

Check-in:

This is not a hotel and does not have a check-in desk or service on the entrance level. You will need to arrange for one of the staff meet you probably by your own phone unless you have made some other arrangement. If you will not have a local SIM, free wifi is available in the building to call by Skype, etc. Suggest to also research TPE-Free and iTaiwan wifi if your first trip to Taipei.

Money Exchange: 

The banks at the airport are the best place (rate, fast and least hassle, more available currencies) to exchange money. If your credit card does not charge excessively for cash advances or foreign exchange fees the ATM rates that I experienced were comparable to the airport rates.

ATM's are readily available, safe, and the ATM fee reasonable. I did not experience any counterfeits from the ATM (nor anywhere) unlike some countries.

Rates will not be as good at the Japanese department stores (ie SOGO, Mitsukoshi, Hankyu) but they are open on the weekends during their normal business hours.

Kitchenette: 

Apartments are not stocked with drinks or snacks but a complimentary set of bottled water, tea, instant coffee, and snack is provided for arrival.

Water filtration system is available for drinking water if you have no major concerns with your drinking water. Water in general is safe.

You will have a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, electric water pot, one burner electric stove, a limited arrangement of pans, utensils, and silverware which are ok for light or occasional cooking.

No coffee maker or drip style provided. There is a Starbucks very close to the apartment complex entrance. 

In QSquare there is a Jasons Market Place but would recommend find a Taipei super market chain (ie Wellcome or Super Market(name?) across the street from Shandao Temple), Zhongshang morning market, or a “20” minute walk to Carrefour if you want to cook, or just go as the tourist to see them anyway.

QSquare and the Taipei Main Station area have many restaurants for those who have no interest in cooking.

WIFI: 

Apartment free wifi is available and each apartment has its own router. If any concern for security I recommend you bring your own travel wifi. LAN cable connection to the router is possible if you bring your own cable.

Work desk: 

If you need a desk or table to work ask in advance when booking. Not all apartments have a desk/table that may be suitable.

Voltage/adapter: 

Does not have universal outlets or voltage in the apartments I stayed at. 

Type A, 110V/60HZ; U.S. and Japan style non-grounded are ok. I do not remember if grounded outlets were available or not.

Shower/tub: 

Depends on the apartment. Check when booking if you have any preference. 

Caution for those who have never used tankless gas water heaters before. Water temp can be tricky to regulate and especially if you have small children with you be careful to avoid getting burned.

Hair dryer and toiletries: 

The hair dryer was quite ok. Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel are large size bottles.  A good selection of toiletries including toothbrush set (no mouthwash). Lighting and mirror combinations are not the best for razor shaving. 

Noise: 

During periods when the air conditioner is running you probably will not notice external or neighbouring room noise. Hall noise can be annoying at times.

Laundry: 

Cold water washing machine (small detergent initially provided) on the balcony is available with a clothes line. The apartments I stayed at did not have an indoor washer or dryer and there is limited space to hang clothes in the shower area. Depending on the time of year unlikely to dry quickly outside due to the humidity. Iron and very small ironing board is available if you ask but maybe not a good location for ironing. You can also request a paid laundry service.

TV: 

Large flat screen TV with HDMI port; local channels and International TV package. Did not have HBO or CINEMAX channels.

Room safe: 

Small one is available but not bolted down and not large enough for a laptop.

Cleanliness: 

My apartments were clean. Room cleaning and linen/towels are changed once a week with garbage service twice a week.

QSquare Residence Taipei (not Global Mall Residence in New Taipei City)

The rooms are bit small but enough for single person. Kitchen area is really small. 
Other wise clean apartments. Service was really good. 
Its just besides Global mall but a lil far from center of the city. 
Prefer H block over A. Rooms are more spacious. 

Good rooms. Ok location. 

I stayed for a month on a business trip. The rooms are spacious and clean. The interiors are also well done.  The kitchen area is bit small but if you are not too much keen to cook, then it might be perfect for you. They provide all basic electronics like clothing iron,microwave,washing machine,refrigerator in the room.

I personally didn't like the bathroom because in my room, there was no bath tub but a deep bathing area. But some rooms have bath tub too. I wasn't just lucky enough!

Room service is provided twice a week. I would say the location is very nice. Next to global Mall,proximity to Banqiao metro station.

Overall nice mid range price place.

Nice place to stay on a business Trip

Very good quality serviced apartments. A good size for a solo traveller or a couple for a short period. New, modern, clean, well furnished, very good service from ESR staff and conveniently located for shopping at Global Mall next-door which has many shops including a good supermarket and a Starbucks.

However, if you are new to Taipei be warned - New Taipei City is very much a suburb. There is very little in the area. You will need to take a thirty minute taxi ride or walk to the MRT (~25 minutes) before taking the train into central Taipei. Therefore not a good place to stay if you are thinking of sight-seeing or hoping to go to bars or restaurants. 

If, on the other hand, you are looking for somewhere very reasonably priced for the facilities provided, with a gym, swimming pool, two pool tables, table tennis, a recreation/socialising area, etc. and the area works for you, then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

A great place to stay long term but not an exciting area of the city - be prepared to travel for entertainment!

I have visited Taiwan during one-month long Business trip to Taiwan in Aug'15 . I have provided with Elite serviced residence from my company for this business stay and I must stay this hotel is lived up to the values quite well . Here is my review 

Pros :
1) Excellent Location , Near to Global Mall , City Market , Baquiao MRT .
2) Specious room , sufficient for one people , if staying with family may be bit I think they can provide bigger rooms .
3) All amenities are there in the room . 
4) Hotel personal attitude is very good and will make you feel home .
5) Down there You will have " Family Mart " opened for 24*7 , so you will get anything for food anytime .
6) They provide transpiration and that too in very professional way .
7) Room charge is in bit lower side compared to same area hotels .

Cons:
1) Lift is bit small and old . They need to renovate it asap .
2) Kitchen area is bit small . SO if you are a good chef , then you may be disappointed .
3) Recreational amenities like Gym , Swimming pool , Games are of paid basis which seems to quite absurd in case you are staying for longer period . I think they can update this rule to free for all for longer stays .

Otherwise everything is spot on . I will like to visit again for sure .

The room was very clean and cozy. The staffs were very kind and friendly. Although, it was a little bit difficult to find where the hotel was, I really satisfied with this hotel. (to korean) 호텔 정말 강추해요. 반차오역에서 글로벌 몰 가는 버스 타시고 글로벌 몰에서 내리시면 호텔 찾기 쉬워요.
