16 reviewsIt might've been because we hit this place right after a terrible hotel in Penghu, but we really liked this one. Location and price made this an easy choice. About 15 minutes from the MRT, which was also a stop for the HSR and buses. About 10 minutes from the Lotus Pond, where there are a LOT of cool things to see, and night markets right in the area. Morning market nearby too. We were in a corner room on the 3rd floor and got street noise from both directions, but it wasn't bad & didn't keep us up. Hotel staff was friendly & spoke English (among other languages). The free breakfast was a rice porridge with a selection of delicious & fun stuff to dump into it. The room itself was mostly consumed by the expansive, comfy bed. Few outlets in the bedroom, but I thought this place's bathroom & sink area are where this one excelled. The shower was absolutely huge & easily fit two people. Not having wall-mounted soap & shampoo dispensers made it feel less ghetto than some other places (soap & shampoo were in small containers). Kettle for the provided tea & coffee. One of the cleanest & newest-feeling rooms I've ever stayed in. This hotel made our decision to someday return to Kaohsiung pretty easy. The room wasn't huge or "luxurious," but as I've said the same with other places, if you're spending a lot of time in your room, you're doing it wrong, especially in Kaohsiung.
