The hotel itself is clean and the staff is friendly. It has a very minimalist feel with its decor and furnishings. The price is certainly attractive for Zurich. However, it is in a more questionable neighborhood and can be very loud at night. Some night spots nearby but also some sketchy individuals hanging around the area.

Good Price; Interesting Location

POSITIVE: friendly & helpful staff; great location if you wanna go out in the Langstrasse area, public transports nearby; clean rooms; NEGATIVE: noisy area, bring your earplugs!; rooms are simple, with plastic curtains, no cabinets, etc.

Good price-quality ratio

Our fault when we booked one night as we were in Zurich for a concert, but we had no idea this was the red light district. This only became apparent when we were walking to the gig venue and had to pass porn cinemas, strip clubs and a lot of very interesting looking "ladies". The room was very basic, the en suite so small you had to leave the door open so you could use the basin as your backside was in the room lol.

The reception area is also a bar / breakfast area; we went to buy a drink after returning from our gig and the night manager was a very weird Will Ferrell lookalike in a dirty jumper that looked like it had paint on it. He was watching something in German on his laptop and had a manic laugh.

Our room was overlooking the main street and didn't appear to have double glazing, I was by the window and was awake most of the night. All I could hear was prostitutes, drug dealers and drunks screaming and shouting, also police sirens all night. An experience I wouldn't want to repeat, ironically I live opposite the corner of a small red light district in Basel but it's nowhere near as bad as this.

Price isn't everything, looking for a hotel that was within walking distance of the train station.  Once we found the place, streets were quiet.  Once we were checked in, we decided to go see downtown Zurich, which was an easy walk from the hotel.  Once we returned and headed to our room, we noticed lots of people coming out that looked suspicious.  As the evening wore on, the freaks came out at night.  Found out we were in the red light district.  Woke up in the middle of the night where police, sirens, etc and fighting going on.  Lots of screaming, loud noises. Next morning our friends woke up to a woman screaming because a guy was beating her up.  Stay away, pay a little extra and feel safer.  Will never go back to Zurich!

Stay away if you can!

Stayed over a weekend. Very noisy from the street because of the night life. The cleanliness in the room could be improved, in the soap pump dead small flies were floating around. The drain in the shower didn't work properly. Stood there with water covering my feet after a short shower. My bed was extremely soft, almost touched the floor when I laid down. For Zürich it is cheap, but it is not value for your money.
