We had a absolutely lovely stay at this beautiful b&b that the family who owns it have restored to its former early 1900 glory. Just as we like it. The little garden on the back is very inviting and great for hangouts or breakfast, which btw was amazing. We will definitely stay here again.

Really nice b&b, with marvellous breakfast. Cozy rooms, but could have used some extra insulation to protect from chilly winds outside and maybe larger bathrooms.

Okéns constitutes the epitomy of service. The couple that runs it anticipates your day, cooks the Most amazing breakfast and knows the down. Wether it is for a day or a week - this is truly the place to stay.

Extraordinary experience. Exceeded expectations. The rooms are spacious, and they offer a generous breakfast. The owners and staff are friendly and goes out of their way to make your stay the best possible. Will definitely come back and recommend it whole heartedly.

Very nice and cozy room with Chromecast, so you could watch your own series or films. Excellent breakfast with everything home made or from a bakery and good service with nice staff. 
Only thing was that the counter closed att 4 pm, but they sent a thorough walkthrough for getting the keys.

Our room was bety cozy, and the couple who greeted us when we came were superfriendly. You almost feel at home here. They also recomended places for drinks and wine for us. We would defenitly stat here again! 

Cozy room and freindly staff

The team is very welcoming, smiling and helpful ! They're meant to be in this business as they have such good people-skills.

The place is gorgeous. There are so many charming details here and there. I love details and every day, I would discover something new in the decoration. It's very well thought !

The location is good : very close to the train station and in the center of Varberg. You can go shopping or eating out by walk. The sea isn't far away either. In a nutshell, you don't need a car. (but if you do have one, the team explains very well where to park)

The breakfast is clearly their strong point. Nothing is missing ! (At least, from my point of view) I was so happy to find oat milk. Even if I'm not vegan, I'm using oat (or rice) milk every morning. Their home-made roasted muesli is to die for !!! The breakfast room is the most charming place ! I loved it !

But, the place isn't for everyone and it's not the owners or the team's fault... If you're young and/or fit, there's no problem. If you have a problem (I have a hip pain), then you'll find that the super steep stairs are an aching adventure. I was at the last floor. Going up or down was quite painful. Worse with a big suitcase. So if you have a similar difficulty, try to ask for a room at the ground floor... I couldn't change rooms unfortunately as they were fully booked. 

Other "problems" : the cleanliness could be slightly better. In my room, I found a plastic wrap between the nightstand and the bed + a shower gel forgotten by the previous guest and not noticed by the people doing the cleaning. 
The last problem is the noise. I said that being close to the train station is a plus. But it can be noisy. And Okens is set in the busiest street of Varberg so there's traffic at any hour. In your room you'll find earplugs in a basket. It helped me. But if you're super sensitive to noise, try to pick a room that's not on the street.

Super charming, great breakfast but the place is not for everyone

Exellent breakfast in lovely surroundings. A  very nice room. Very good service. We stayed two nights in august and enjoyed our stay, despite the rainy and cloudy weather. I travelled with my daughter, and we both liked the hotell, the food and the service.

We stayed as a family with two kids in Okéns for three nights and booked two double rooms which were next to each other. They had a separate entrance just for the two rooms, so it was very convenient. Very nice and cozy B&B, very kind and helpful staff. Close to the station and city center, beach within walking distance. Breakfast is delicious. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

Nice and cozy B&B

Great stay during our. Kattegatleiden bike trip. Hotel in a historic building from the 19th century and ownwers take care that decoration fits to that time. Very cozy place, good substantial breakfast, tastefully decorated rooms, friendly service team and in easy reach to the Kattegatleiden as well as to explore beautiful Varberg.
