Really gorgeous and relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Rooms are rustic and lovely and close to everything from restaurants and cliffs where you watch the sun set in the ocean. The inner yard is lovely for a glass of wine - bring your own but the hostess happily supplies you with glasses.

Weekend getaway

Oregrund is a super cute small Swedish coastal town and this hotel is verycharming and perfectly located. It is walking distance from everything.   Just a few minutes walk and your down at the marina with a number of excellent restaurants. Easy street parking right in front.  This is a place for a couple of grownups to get away and recharge in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

Charming hotel with great breakfast

Before you make a reservation at this accommodation you need to be aware that they apply very strict cancellation rules! I'm still not quite sure how many days in advance you need to cancel your reservation in order not to be forced to pay full fee, in the information I received (after trying to cancel my reservation) it varies between five to seven days - but it could be more! I made my reservation via a well renown booking-site (not allowed to write the name in this review) and assumed that the usual cancellation policy was applicable - ie no later than one day before arrival. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our trip due to unforeseen events and when I contacted the owner - two days before our scheduled arrival - the owner showed no understanding at all for our situation. Even though it was high season and the hotel was fully booked (the owner even told me that they had to turn down three other guests that same day that wanted to make a reservation for the night that I now wanted to cancel) she still demanded that I pay full price for the room. To show a little sense of service and flexibility, such as making us pay a part of the cost or wait and see if the room would be rented out to someone else was not an option. On the contrary, I got the feeling that the owner saw our cancellation as an opportunity to receive double pay for the room. Although we contacted the owner two days in advance we ended up paying full fee for a room that we never got to spend a single minute in. Regardless what the owners may respond to this review (and I can see from their previous remarks that the don't respond well to negative reviews) - this is what actually happened! Poor service, bad attitude and lousy sense of service towards customers.

A warning is in order!

I spent several stays at Ankargarden of 1 or 2 weeks for professional reasons but felt like visiting friends or family members. The landlord, Camilla, arranged a really charming place and pays attention to each of the guests. Breakfast buffet was perfect for me with delicious fresh fruit & vegetable juices. I recommend also especially the Inglesmen bread. I look forward returning to this little paradise!

Camilla and her staff are fantastic.
I would well recommend the morning juice shots for a quick breakfast on the go.
Hotel rooms are spacious and very clean.

You will not find a better hotel in Oregrund that welcomes you in like a member of the family.
