This hostel is hosted in a beautiful old craftsmanship area in a nice, old, building. It's not modern and noise travels in between the rooms, but you'll most likely still like to stay in an old building like this.

You can find dinner in the nearby village, just next to Göta Kanal.

The breakfast is served in another old house a few hundred meters from the hostel. It's very nice and recommended.

Forsvik works well as a basis for walks in the nearby Tiveden national park (strongly recommended). You might want to walk in between the B&Bs of Tiveden such as Ösjönäs and Tivedstorp (also STF).

Basic accommodation at lovely site, good breakfast

This is a very nice, clean, well-kept and old style hostel in a unique setting: an industrial museum (Forsviks bruk), close to the "Göta Canal" and in a small, sleepy and sweet village - serene and quiet in the winter and full of activity in the summer with café, restaurant, ice-cream kiosk and even a small train for children to ride. This is however all closed during winter. The café was open though for us, as we were a large group staying in the hostel for the weekend. Delicious food, great hostess.

Beautiful, genuine, fascinating surroundings

We stayed there only for two nights. Because of the low season, we had whole house for ourselves. Our room was consisting of a kitchen, shower, toilet and bedroom. The house is really nice, staff was great. There was no problem and I really enjoyed the place. Because there was silence, we could work and sleep for hours. I can recommend it!
