Le Privilege Resort & Spa

Marie and her staff were simply wonderful! Friendly and helpful with good recommendations for eating and activities. We were welcomed with cocktails made with one of the wonderful infused rums that are all over the island--fantastic after a long day of travel. Everyone from Marie, to the housekeepers and gardeners always had a friendly, "bonjour" for us. They showed genuine interest in us and our 7-year-old daughter, and were never to busy to help with a question or request. The continental breakfasts were very similar to smaller European hotels we have visited. Nice breads, croissant, fruits, prosciutto, cheese and on request, yogurt. The coffee was the best! The beach is shared with the other nearby resorts and a few minutes' drive from the resort. Rooms were clean and had plenty of light, too. The area the property is located in is very quiet--if you're looking for a party resort, this isn't the one for you. The view was spectacular! All rooms face the sea. We had a room on the 2nd floor with a shared balcony (which preferred, because there were more tables and chairs). If you want a small, private balcony as for a room on the top floor. Yes, the drive to the resort is up a steep hill, down steeply again, and then up again, but the road is paved and we have seen MUCH worse in Central America (and even some places in the USA), so it really didn't bother us that much. The resort is a 10 to 15 minute drive to Grand Case, for excellent restaurants of all types of food. Privilege Resort is simply a fantastic property, made all the better by the excellent service of staff and location!
