Great place . Rooms are clean with a great view we had two rooms there both really good. Staff and the owner were friendly and helpful

And the food and drinks in cafe were really good too

One of the most hospitable places we ve stayed at. The room we stayed in was spacious ,comfortable & clean with big balconies facing the ocean ..Breakfast is served at their beach restaurant - Doctors Bar-across the road....& the food is simple and yummy..... really enjoyed our stay... Yea stylish! It rarely happens hear, but they have nice design and grohe stuff in a bathroom. Hammocks on a beachside and good tents. Bar with music at night time. Tried seafood plate in a restaurant - very good and tasty. Prices for food a bit higher and they also have service charge, and for beer also:( But anyway it's a nice place to stay with taste and normal price for room.

Let's start from the staff, that I have to say is very kind, polite, and helpful with any request. Very well done, guys. This property itself is located half way between Tangalle city centre and the beach, in a quiet area, and is one of two places the owner has to offer. The other one is right in front of the beach, first line, 10mins away on foot. There's the chance to have a nice breakfast in a beautiful and spacious porch, looking at the seaside. And you can also use sunbeds, hammocks, tables, etc. at the beach... just bear in mind you'll have to walk about a km to reach the other hotel, NorthEast of this one.

The towels provided looked clean, but smelled of seawater (might had been used at the beach and got unnoticed). Even though is not advertised, bear in mind there's no hot water in the bathroom, or at least in the basic rooms: cold shower it is. The wifi was not working during our stay, but in the end we used the one at the other Harmony Hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights and defenitely choose the right hotel in Tangalle. The guys working there took good care of us and were very kind. The food was very tastefull, especially the plate full of grilled fish. We enjoyed just lying in the hammocks for a few hours while seeking refreshment in their ice coffees.

Good place to stay at, for a couple of days of relax in Tangalle.

Ultimate relaxing & lots of fun

The manager is a crazy, aggressive person who is ripping off everyone by charging an extra 10% tax (which doesn't exist) on the room charge. When we told him that we never had to pay this tax during our 6 weeks of traveling in Sri Lanka, he became furious and was yelling at us in front of the other guests. 
In the end we paid the 10% extra because he was threatening to take the missing money from his staff salary. 
Even though the rooms are really neat and comfortable we cannot recommend anyone going there and supporting someone who is treating his staff so badly.
By the way the food is really expensive. We can recommend everyone to go to sandys. They have a huge, delicious buffet for 800Rs.

Aggressive Manager - worst experience in Sri Lanka 

We booked two rooms for two nights through Booking and we arrived early in the afternoon at the hotel. On our arrival we were told that they only had one room available for us. After a long discussion with the staff and the manager we were told that finally there was another room available for us.
After waiting for two hours we were given the second room that had none of the characteristics of the room we booked. It was an awful room with only a bed with no other furniture and a broken shower. We complained about this and requested a solution to the manager. After a lot of arguing we were offered two rooms in a different hotel (same owner) where we were finally transferred.
In the morning of the checkout we received an email from booking informing us that Harmony City stated that we did not show up at the hotel and the cancelation fee was the total price of the booking. While booking the rooms we entered our credit card details so we wanted to avoid a double payment (by credit card and cash). Our prepaid credit card has a gap of 24 hours before the debit is processed so we contacted the manager in order to find a solution.
The Harmony City manager gave us no explanation of the cancelation with booking as a Not shown and requested us to pay immediately by cash. When we informed him that before paying we wanted to be sure that there was no debit in the credit card he started shouting and we were verbally abused and threatened by him. My wife was scared because the manager was in complete lack of self-control and he was violent so we left the place.
Once we confirmed that there was no charge on the credit card with proceeded with a bank transfer and paid the rooms.
For this reason I will not recommend the Harmony city.
