It is a small property available only for the select travelers. The location is awesome with great view of the Kandy city and Lake. Spacious modern rooms with all amenities are most relaxing places to be in. A small team of management provides personal touch. The  choice of dishes is varied, wide and most delicious. One can spend lot of time with the manager sharing the experiences and getting to know the history, and geography of Kandy as well as get valuable insider information on various tourist attractions. Make sure that you are accepted as a guest by booking well in advance.

The most comfortable place in Kandy

A chance finding and worth it. We had a very comfortable upstairs room with balcony and ensuite. Our host was very helpful. Set breakfast in home-style atmosphere - this is their home !
Short walk up the hill from very good value cafe and tennis club open restuarant.

Quiet place with gorgeous garden and helpful host

Razik and Nasli have a beautiful home to which they welcome their guests. It's up a winding lane off the main street so is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are large and have a balcony or patio to enjoy the morning or evening sun. Their garden is a work of art with flowers in abundance...truly an oasis! We enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast under the bougainvallea while enjoying a lovely conversation with our hosts. Razik arranged for a driver, Fazeel, to take us to Sigiriya one day and to Nuwaraliya the following day. Both days were full of interesting spots...a batik workshop, wood carving, a tea plantation tour, the Kandy War Cemetery. We learned so much from Fazeel and appreciated his patient and careful driving both days. The Royal Tourist Lodge and its owners are a real gem and we appreciated the opportunity to stay here and get to know them and Fazeel!

Large rooms, beautiful garden located on a quiet street minutes from the lake!

We stayed 2 nights in one of the rooms with balcony. The room is nicely decorated, big bed very comfortable with crisply ironed white sheets, ceiling fan as well as air conditioner, shower had plenty of hot water. The owners are a lovely couple, happy to tell you about places to visit and where to eat.
We had dinner there one night - 4 curries with rice, followed by ice cream. It wasn't quite spicy enough for us, but that was our fault for not saying beforehand that we like spicy food. We also tried a sri lankan  breakfast one morning, and continental the next - both were tasty and filling. 
Location was good for us, just a 5 minute walk downhill to the lakeside, then a stroll to the centre of Kandy. Tutuk back was 250 rupees.
Overall a peaceful spot, perhaps a bit more expensive than most, but an enjoyable stay.

Pleasant stay close to town.

We've stayed two night in the guest house and we really recommend it! 
The room is perfect, with a big balcony, king size bed, shower, ... 
The owner and is wife are very sympathique, and they made a wonderful local breakfast! Ask for it! 

The place is close to the lake, very nice is you like walking and go back in Tuk Tuk.
