We stayed at Shalom Residence for 2 nights. We were looked after by Douglas who did everything he could to make our stay comfortable. The room was clean, bright and modern with a beautiful view. Breakfast was good. I highly recommend this homestay in Kandy.

Shalom residence is one of the best place to stay in Kandy. Situated in a quiet residential area with a beautiful view of the mountains.
A 10 minutes’ drive to the city center and close to all amenities including restaurants.
The host Susil is very accommodating and easy to communicate, always a phone call away if help is needed. The caretaker Douglas was extremely helpful and attended to our every need and very pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend Shalom Residence to anyone visiting Kandy. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable with space enough to relax. The only issue was the wireless internet connection is poor and often drops out.

Quit and Comfortable stay

It was a great experience to have 2 days here.calm and peaceful environment around.some far from kandy town.It is better as it is free from huzzle and buzzle from the town. Staff was kind and friendly.

The location of the place is not easy to locate even with google map :)... The residence ambiance is nice... clean, quite, peaceful and the owner is very welcoming. My friends and loved the room cozy and classy however the blankets were itchy. The caretaker Mr. Douglas was super nice and prepares the breakfast early as we requested.

Nice place to stay

The place really looks nice. We loved the room layout and the view outside. The place is really posh. But we did not sleep very well. The blankets were itchy and smells like a wet dog. We had to use our quicke dry towels as blankets. The bed sheets does not seem to be newly changed as they were dusty. My friends and I all had a restless sleep and already up before 4am because we could not sleep any more. The room had a kitchen but no useable utensils. We found some on the cupboard but all were dirty and need a good scrubbing before anyone could use it. The shower was clean and hot water is available. 
Douglas the caretaker was nice and on time with the breakfast. The place is good but could improve on cleanliness.
