Nice place to stay, with really responsive and welcoming staff and owner.

We've stayed here only one night, but tris was a pretty good stay. Room was big and bathroom clean and well equipped. We didn't have an AC room, but the room was not that hot, especially if the fan was turned on.

From a location point of view, this is walkable distance to the bus station (we've done it carrying backpacks as well and it was quite OK) and around 1km from the Fort.

Last but not least, the price was one of the best we found for that period in Galle, so I recommend this stay to anyone who wants a place that's not very expensive, pretty close to Fort, but doesn't want to spend tons of money on it. 

Nice, cheap and well equipped stay

We were very pleasantly surprised about this lovely apartment. The staff were very helpful and kind,and helped us with any questions. It is not far to walk into the fort(around 10 min), and we were very happy that we could experience life in Galle outside the very touristy fort. It is a good idea to bring a flashlight when walking around in the dark, so that oncoming traffic can see you on the streets. Also not to get scared about the varans walking the street with you. Do not go by tuc tuc in and out of the fort, as there are many one way streets and they will have to drive twice as far.  The Homestay have very good internet, although it sometimes stopped working. You will have a whole apartment for your self and they serve great breakfast. We would deffinetly recommend staying outside the fort and eat with the locals. Very reccomendable and historic house. It was raining a little bit when we were there, but it is still very beautiful. 

Great big place outside fort

Big room, with ceiling fan, so good for sleeping. Very close to the train station. The price is so low compared to what you get. Only 10min walk from the fort. The street with buses is also not very far away, but still no noise complaints, very quiet (because the main road is pure chaos!).

Very nice

Great little place in the centre of Galle town. If you are a 4 and 5 star Hotel kind of traveller then don't book. If you are on a tight budget and fancy a bit of luxury (relative) then book here. To a backpacker this would be 5 star, but if you want a nice hotel near a beach then look at a hotel near Unawatuna Beach. Being in the centre of town you will be surrounded by the hustle and bustle if this great little city. The owner Sarath and his family are very helpful and very friendly. I have seen other reviews saying there are a few add ons when you get there, but i wasn't charged anything more than what i asked for. $5usd per night for air con, and $2.5usd for breakfast per person to me is a bargain. Great place, great location.

Week stay watching the cricket

We slept in the top apartment, which is huge! Seperate bedroom, nice seating area, kitchen and bathroom. The bed was really comfortable, and you have your own entrance so lots of privacy. Very good value for money, but only if you don't need the A/C or the cooking facilities. Because you have to pay 5USD extra per day to use the A/C and you also have to pay extra to use the cooking facilities. 

Apartment is close to the train and bus station. Galle Fort is 15-20 mins walk, better take a tuk tuk.
