Ella

Wonderful views of Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak.  Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Room was very basic, musty and damp, bed linen was clean but smelly.  10 minutes walk away from Ella centre (along the main road so take a torch if walking at night).  Overall, this is very over priced - there are cheaper and cleaner options in Ella.

3 nights, family stay in Ella

Breakfasts are excellent and even have a mini dessert. Prasa and Sineth are attentive - nothing is a problem, but they give you space and time to soak up the surroundings. They are polite, knowledgeable and can sort out tuk tuks or drivers if you need them. This was a great base for Ella, Nine Arches, Ravana Falls, Little Adam’s Peak and the secret waterfalls, all of which a driver was able to take us to in one morning (Prasa organised this).

Comfortable, relaxed with great staff

I booked a King Room with Mountain View for two nights.
there are only 3 rooms at this family run hotel.
The hotel is situated about 1/2 mile downhill from Ella Town. It is conveniently situated for visits to Dambatenne Tea Factory, Adams Peak, Ella Rock, Demodara Bridge (Nine Arches Bridge) and Ravanna Falls.
The room was spacious and the bathroom was huge - all nicely furnished. The hotel run a Tuk Tuk ride up to Ella town (400 Sri Lankan Rupees) and then it is an easy walk back.
(NB The property is accessed by a very steep driveway which wasn't easy for our car to access and turn around - but staff at the hotel carried our luggage down the driveway to meet with our car when we were leaving). 
Breakfast is served on the balcony directly outside your room, and there are lovely views over the hills and gorge. The breakfast was lovely - fresh fruit drinks, fruit, toast and cakes, traditional Sri Lankan breakfast which I tried for the first time and it wasn't spicy and was very tasty. The only downside was the amount of flies hovering around the food in the morning but Brasa (who was very efficient, friendly and helpful)  lit incense sticks to deter them which did help. 
I would stay here again.

Small quiet family run hotel with excellent service and facilities.

Most beautiful stay, we had in Sri Lanka! The accommodation is situated a little up the hill  from the main road. So it is quite, you have an amazing view on ella rock and a waterfall, which you can listen to in the evening. One is surrounded by birds and squirrels. The rooms are very clean and you walk out straight onto the veranda, with your own private seating and chill out area. The delicious, homemade breakfast is alot and provides a healthy start to the day. We never needed to eat lunch. You can walk everything from the place and we would recommend you to do so. Ella is full of adventure, espcially Ella rock. Our stay was absolutly breathtaking. Many thanks to the lovely hosts!

Inn with a dream view!

Having come from some very average accommodation in Kandy, we had quite high hopes for the Leisure Dream Inn in Ella. Sadly the property did not live up to our expectations. 

After settling into our room we were soon presented with a very strong chemical type smell that was very overwhelming on the bedding. We stuck it out for the first night hoping it would improve, but this was not the case. We should have made the owner aware but we just put up with it and knew the place was fully booked.

We think there may be a dampness type issue as the shower room is very small , poorly designed,  having minimal ventilation and the water doesnt drain away from having a shower as youd expect. If you didnt shower strategically the room would be absolutely satured. 

We had to wolf down our breakfast each morning due to a swarm of flies that would appear each and every time we sat down. The staff bring out covers for the food, but by that time its far too late. 

We of course appreciate this is not under the control of the hotel, however surely certain things could be done to improve the breakfast experience. It really was unpleasant which is a shame as the food was very good.

The view is stunning from the front of the property of Adams Peak and the surrounding area. This place has huge potential but is lacking that bit of finesse.

Not quite as we had hoped for...

I do not even know where to start :) I liked absolutely everything about the place! some special mentions:
- Staff: super friendly, with perfect english and above everything else very competent! Everything was working like in the clockwork, including organizing trips and tuktuks for fair price :) Thank you Shan for making our stay as great as it could be and for making as feel like at home! 
- Atmosphere: it's a small hotel located at the outskirts of Ella, roughly 3 or 4 rooms, so we always had a great sense of privacy. Everyone was very open and friendly and I felt happy each time being back there. Monkey running around but not causing any issues, eagles flying above your head, very green, I just loved it :)
- Views: stunning! If I would need to mention the greatest perk of this place apart from Shan, that would be it. It actually looks better than on pictures. Well worth to wake up for a sunrise and enjoy it with a cup of coffee, wathing it rise above the misty valleys... truly dreamlike experience  
- Food: fresh, tasty, local, and a lot of it :) I loved the breakfast here!
- Rooms: We had 2, one with higher standard and one normal. The normal rooms were ok for the price (clean and comfortable), but the higher standard... like a palace :) stylish, with huge bathroom and amazing view :)

All in all, I'm tempted to say that it is was best accommodation we've stayed during our trip to Sri Lanka!

AMAZING!

Fantastic place, amazing views and fabulous staff, will stay here again, the bathroom was as big as some bedrooms and the breakfast was fantastic, about a 10 minute walk from the bustle of Ella which is ideal, my view for breakfast was the amazing waterfall on the hill, magical

Magical Ella

Great friendly service, clean rooms, beautiful balcony to relax on overlooking the surrounding mountains and amazing breakfasts. Lovely quiet location out of the hustle and bustle of Main Street Ella. Highly recommended. Thank you to the staff who made us feel so welcome.

Beautiful location and great service

Leisure Dream Inn was truly the gem of our tour of Sri Lanka.
The hotel is very beautiful and stylish and the veranda features breathtaking views of the valley, Little Adam's Peak, and Ella Rock.

The rooms are spacious and lovely. The true highlight, however, is the cosy veranda with its great view of the valley. Every room has its own part of the veranda with tables and reclining chairs. Watching the valley and the peaks from the sofas outside is beautiful in the morning and in the evening.

The home-cooked breakfast, combining traditional Sri Lankan elements with elements of a continental breakfast, is wonderful. Different healthy dishes every day are served on the veranda with its absolutely breathtaking view of the valley, Ella Rock, and Little Adam's Peak. Especially the hoppers and roti with curry are exquisite. It was always a highlight of the day!

The staff is very helpful and friendly! They could help us with any request and were always up for a lovely chat. They know a lot about Ella, especially about hiking routes and the best spots to see the sunrise or the sunset.

A True Gem: Breathtaking Views of Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock

Great place to stay in Ella , we had the deluxe room and it was huge with a massive bathroom.    We had our own terrace with far reaching views but the best part of this place was the amazing breakfasts.  So much effort went into it, it was the best breakfast we had for our entire trip round Sri Lanka.  Fruit, curd, hoppers, dahl, curry, toast, omelette, it was endless and so delicious. (it changed each day).

It is only about a 2 mins tuk tuk ride into Ella (up hill) or a ten/12 min walk and not far from the station.

I would definitely stay here again if was passing through Ella.

The only think I would say is that it would be handy to have somewhere to hang your clothes and a safe.
