This is a Chinese owned hotel in a very dodgy suburb of Colombo. All the nice parts of the city are rather far. Walking around or hailing a Tuk Tuk from here is risky. getting in and out during the day is very difficult due to the heavy traffic in the area. Parking too is a big problem.

It's a hotel with just a few rooms mostly occupied by tourists from mainland China. When we arrived the front desk was unmanned. Had to get into the lift and go to the restaurant to find an employee.

A Chinese owned hotel in a dodgy suburb

I visited China Manor with my family and we enjoyed both the ambiance and delicious authentic Sichuan style dishes. The décor has a vintage feel.  The staff told us that most of the furniture, decorations, dining sets were imported from China. The spicy crab is a dish to die for if you appreciate Sichuan taste. We also loved the handmade dumplings. The staff were very friendly and offered us tips of where to visit. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience. 
The owner gave us a tour of the rooms and facility. It looks clean and well maintained for a budget hotel. We will consider to stay here for our next trip.

Great location, authentic Chinese food, friendly staff

Well located for Maradana Stn which is where train line starts for Galle, but seriously terrible otherwise.
Our room 306. Shower detached and no shower cubicle so we wedged shower head to have shower and water spurted all over everything including electrics and light was flashing on and off. The wifi didn't work. Power cut meant pitch dark in morning - no staff around so staggered downstairs unlit. Take a torch and a body bag if u stay here

Terrifyiny health and safety - appalling

I happened to stay only one night at this China Manor Hotel because rooms for the rest of the day was fully booked. You know its a popular hotel especially for Chinese and others who love Chinese cuisine.  Two girls at the front desk Nirosha and other girl were well versed in English and very proactive helping customers with friendly smile and of course talkative that made feel welcomed.
