Great value for money, this was a beautiful apartment that makes you feel bang in the middle of a mountain. The apartment had all basics: small fridge, a cooker and microwave. It also has a great fireplace which still in May came very handy. Large bathroom, all in excellent condition, with excellent water pressure. Don't be put off if you come across lot of fog on your drive up: just go. Views are fantastic. The apartment is right where the Tresviso-Urdón hike starts, and you´ll do it downwards first and then walk back up, which I thoroughly enjoyed. There is another more difficult route that starts from this town as well. Owner stays nearby and is always at hand to help. Do bear in mind that this town has no shops other than a local bar, so make sure to bring food with you if you intend on cooking your own food.

I loved this place, great value, well equipped, warm and comfortable, with amazing views. We had the upper apartment which has a little balcony and a stable style door to soak up those views. The lady that looks after it lives next door and was very helpful (we telephoned to advise of our arrival time) and walked up from Urdon, a tough 3.5 hour slog, but worth it! As others have mentioned, Tresviso is a very quiet, old fashioned, tiny village, but the one and only local bar does good food and wine and was excellent. Try the local cheese that they make at the queseria up the hill! Very very good!

Fantastic!

I stayed here for a couple of days in early August.  It is perfectly charming.  A perfect rural retreat.  This is a large stone house, with a two bed roomed apt on the top floor, with outside stairs.  There is another rental apartment below. And the woman who owns, or looks after the house, lives at basement level at the rear of the house, with her family.

The apartment is spotless, and very well kitted out.  Hair dryer, washing machine, pots and pans etc.

Come prepared though, there is no shop.  So bring bread and cheese. The next village Sotres is c.12km away.  Sotres has a couple of bar-restaurants and a shop.

Village and house info;  Tresviso village consists of a small cluster of houses and sheds, perhaps 16 to 20, a bar, and a church.  The village is on a slope on the mountainside.  This house is down the slope a bit, towards the centre of the village.  It has a large stone oval plaque, with its name, on the gable of the house.  The gable facing the 'main road' in to town. 

There was an older road, but this can no longer be used for vehicles, and is now just a rough path.  It is very popular with hill walkers.  (Not suitable for motorbikes).  The house location is not well indicated on google maps.  Ask any local.

My booking confirmation asked me to email the owners before my arrival.  This did not work, but a phone call did the job.  And now, knowing that the caretakers are on site, -no problem just arriving.

The Bar;  Is a little gem.  I believe it is owned by two brothers.  We were there on a Mon and Tues,.  There were a few locals (7-8) and a couple of hill walkers in on both nights. They serve until around 12mn.  There is a panoramic dining room at the side of the bar.  The view during the day must be fantastic.

Although the lights were off in the dining room  both evenings when we arrived, food was served to 4 or 5 at a table the first evening, and the second evening the bar man (owner ?) and a few locals had dinner and a few laughs together around a table.  

On both nights food was served quiet late, maybe 10;30 pm -11pm.  The dining room, with its fantastic view, would be a lovely spot to lunch after a long walk.
