We stayed 10 days in apartment 5 at the Casa Rural operated by Maddiola (2 km up the road from the B&B). 

The location is unbelievable, full of natural beauty and gorgeous sunsets. Just up the hill from San Sebastian and Orio. A car is essential, but that's obvious if you look at the map. It's also right on the Compestela trail. 

The apartment (and house) is well equipped, the bed comfortable and the air conditioning effective. Compact but usable kitchen. Really nice place to stay. Privacy even with 6 other apartments also in the building. 

It is very suited to larger (adult) families or groups of friends who need both privacy and common space. The communal kitchen and terrace have room for large gatherings, but each can still go back to their own apartment. The best view is from the communal balcony. Lots of communal garden space (barbecue, trampoline..)

The best part of the staff really is the attitude from the staff. Responsive to questions on WhatsApp, kind with suggestions, attentive to needs. The grounds are meticulously maintained. You feel personally welcomed, it's very nice. 

We also got great massages and used their (very good!) laundry service. 

Our vacation was a success in large part thanks to the Maddiola experience, can wholeheartedly recommend.

A beautiful place to enjoy the natural beauty of Idelgo

My girlfriend and I stayed in apartment number 2. It was very clean, had a comfortable bed and modern kitchen and bathroom. The staff was incredible friendly. We went to the other property (2km away) to see the animals and had an amazing time up close and personal with the goats. We also got incredibly relaxing massages from Nartan. I would highly recommend a massage with her, the quality for the price can't be beat. We would absolutely come back!

Great place to disconnect

On our 3 week trip to Spain we wanted to see San Sebastian and visit Bilbao (Guggenheim) and decided to try this Agroturismo - stayed in others in Italy and France with good times.  This farm/winery/hotel sits several hundred feet above the beautufl road winding up the coast.  Only a few minutes by car from a good city with everything one needs, they are far away from civilization and city life.  The owners built a beautiful building with about 11 rooms, six overlooking the ocean with 180 degree views of the ocean.  The room was very large and well appointed, with a large terrace for relaxing.  The breakfast was nice and the wine they make available anytime.  What's not to like !   Also, the value was fantastic for the accomodiation.  The service from the owner and their daughters was exceptional..  Book early as they are frequently full of repeat customers coming for the food, wine, Spa, etc.  A must visit if in the area.

On Top of The World

We had to quickly choose this lovely place after leaving another hotel because of noise and building work. We we do glad we found it. The view is stunning,  the location perfect for visiting beaches and the lovely city of San Sebastian. Family run, with two daughters able to speak English, who were so helpful and friendly. We did not have breakfast , but we're given wine and goats cheese before going out by the lovely father. It was superb. I can't praise this place enough for the location and customer service. There are rooms to the front of the property with the fabulous view, and appartments upstairs. The rooms are very rustic and homely as is the lovely conservatory where I sat all evening just watching the sunset, pure relaxation.  The family also have some other appartments further along the road , and these are superb with the same spectacular view..we will be back!

The View is Stunning

Third visit to Maddiola, yet again massively impressed. 

First two years in the main house, traditional basque impeccably clean, breakfast all home made amazing. 

This year first in Maddiola apartments WOW bring on the next visit. 

Amazing again

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, I was sure that I would not be disappointed. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. The views are stunning. Lots of animals for the kids. Rooms are very clean. Breakfast was perfect with homemade yoghurt and cheese. Cannot fault. 

Very pleased with stay

This is a nice little hotel that's high up with some great views. I found it comfortable and I enjoyed the breakfast, particularly the bizcocho. I would have liked some shower gel in the room and note that there is no restaurant so you have to pop down to the nearby village. Breakfast is not until 08:30 but the put it together for me for 08:00 so I could get going early, which was appreciated.

Nice hotel with great views

We stayed in a room with a view of the Bay of Biscay and it was absolutely perfect. The terrace, when we sat outside was so serene and tranquil I couldn't get enough of it We got to see the goats and sheep eating their lunch and dinner and there was no sound other than birds singing and animals talking to each's other. Breakfast was so beautiful, we took pictures. Homemade cheese, maybe not to everyone's taste, but it was to ours. So delicious we bought some! Also, Maddy and Iolia were perfect hosts and Papa's homemade red wine was delicious....at no charge!!!
It was a little noisy when people came home late (our late, no one elses, especially in Spain!) but it didn't last long.

We would visit San Sebastian at any time, but now we will always stay at Maddiola,
