It was a pleasant stay.

Savoy is strategically placed with a shopping centre and a food court in the same complex. Everything one needs is close by be it medication, there is a pharmacy, booze, there is Tops at Spar. 

Ultimately when you are about to leave Mthatha you just feel up your fuel at Total Energies in the same complex, you don't have to stop in town or on the way home for fuel.

Pleasant stay. Affordable, easily accessible and good breakfast. Lovely place to stay when needing a stopover on a long trip from Jhb. Efficient and friendly staff willing to assist with anything one needs.

This was the best ever accommodation, I've ever been to. I've never seen a room layout as this one where shower is enclosed with the glass and jacuzzi / bathtub next to it and separate enclosed toilet. This is one of the best and thoughtful designs from my point of view. This allows both partners to have a choice which one they choose to use if not using the same. This was very cozy and nice to be, very clean and tidy. The room is airconditioned with mini bar fridge, and workstation beside the normal TV with DSTV channels including sport for big boys.  It was also the first time to be in a room as big as this. From the top of my head calculations, I'll presume the room to be 36 - 40 square meters (double garage size) since I know how to read building fire plans. The premises are clean with lovely garden to take pictures, safe parking manned by 24/7 security personnel. The staff hospitality was exceptional. Next time, please give me a food voucher for Spur. I've eaten a lot of variety of pizzas in my life. However, the pizza that was advised by the consultant was one of the best. By the way, my future plans are to renovate my bedroom to include ensuite with walk in closet. From this design, I've taken pointers and thanks to the designer of this establishment.

Hotel stay hospitality.

The staff was amazing they treated us like royalty, the room they gave was beyond our expectation. The food was excellent, I’m glad i stayed it was a wonderful experience indeed. Am sure I’ll be returning soon.

Beautiful experience

The Savoy offers great executive suites which not only provide for a comfortable stay, but also a more than adequate working space and connectivity.
The location is very convenient and close to all amenities.

Great stay in Umtata

The room was clean and comfortable love the location but the Wi-Fi is weak when you in the room. The breakfast was amazing and my favorite part was the pool area the staff helpful in everything since it was my first time traveling to mthatha .

Enjoyed everything about the place

We were looking for a place midway between St Lucia and Addo National Park to break up the 14 hrs drive. We chose the Hotel Savoy.
 The good —Mandy at the front desk was very helpful. She showed us to our Executive Room and helped us order room service from one of the nearby Restaurants. She got us a bagged breakfast for the next morning. We parked right outside our executive room and she helped bring in our bags . If you stay at the Savoy highly recommend choosing the slightly more expensive Executive Rooms.
 The room had a jacuzzi tub and was very nice . The hotel handled load shedding very well with their generator. 
 The bad- We were involved in an attempted robbery as we drove through Mthatha on the way to the Hotel. Apparently we were spotted after getting cash at an ATM at a Total Station about 100km Away East of Mthatha. Fortunately we figured out the setup and left before being robbed on the way to Hotel Savoy. 
 After checking in Mandy at the front desk she told us another couple had been robbed in a similar scam a few weeks before.
 The lesson learned was to not listen to anyone directing traffic other than a person u are 100% sure is a legitimate police person, our scammer had a yellow vest.
 We had secure parking behind a guarded gate.

Good overnight spot . Just be careful in town.

The hotel stay was good. Breakfast was nice and Kids loved the place. Friendly staff at the reception as well as Security Officers at the main entrance. I can recommend this place to family and friends 

Pleasant experience

i prefer a room with a chair that has a back rest for proper seating when i do my admin work. a bar fridge is needed inside the room. On arrival after 14:00B, my allocated room was not yet completely made up and other items were still being prepared. 

Great experience

Only one cup provided for and one tea bag provided which means you only allowed drink tea once and there is no telephone or any means of communication with reception which means that you have to walk to the reception
