I had a good enough stay for the price but would suggest that the following be improved.  Softer pillows, better selection of TV channels, some bottled water in the fridge, power point for the kettle.  This place can be much better, just needs a some proper management.

Good enough for the price

We went to stay for the new years block party and although the place has a lot of potential it is very badly maintained. The grass is long the pool is green and the towels that they provide u with are torn. For a so called 4 star establishment it's not as advertised and rather disappointing to say the least

Not as advertised

The facilities are state of the art, rooms were clean and neat.  HOWEVER there is no reception,nobody answers the phone  - 6 call in total and check-in is only at 3pm.  When you want a blow-dryer (not in rooms) you have to call the "manager" but her phone is on voicemail. The entrance gate it not working and has to be pushed by hand - it is also not locked during the evening and there is no security. Imagine an airplane with no pilot - that is what it feels like.

Where is the Management

This used to be my ideal place for budget accommodation in Tshwane. Beautiful and spacious rooms, access to major routes and shopping complex and being quiet are some of the natural characteristics of the place. I returned there to a ghostly feel about the place, being told that I should only check in at 15:00 instead of 14:10 when I arrived. The room floor was never cleaned with fake hair pieces all over the floor. Side lamps and the pedestals were too dirty. One of the side lamps does not have connection to power. 

They have stopped serving breakfast, making it difficult for one to stay in the compound for long without venturing out. The staff were not always that available most of the time, leaving guests to fend for themselves.

The pool was too dirty for summer and the environment outside the walls was untidy. Something needs to be done to save this once prestigious place. 

What went wrong

First, we booked a room in this guesthouse through booking.com, and when we arrived the room we booked is not available. We get a room for more expensive instead of the same price. The guesthouse should provide a room for the same price but they didn’t. Even the guesthouse Manager ignore us and our complaints. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, sorry. I would not recommend this guesthouse, as you see, in other comments it also happened very often that the room you booked is gone. We‘re not the only one. And it’s too far from the city, no public transportation, Swimming pool is dirty, Unprofessional Workers. NO! Definitely not again!

Unprofessional / NOT recommended

Terrible experience. Poor service. We were not received by anyone and they were still cleaning when we were supposed to check in. I couldn’t get hold of the manager and we only got to go into the rooms 3 hours after we were supposed to. The wifi didn’t work. The swimming pool was inaccessible. The fridges in the rooms were dirty and reeked of alcohol.

Worst experience

Very bad experience. The staff went through my bag while I was at work during the day. Cleaning lady admitted that they looked into my bag and the hotel manager defended the staff saying that they were looking for a missing tea bag and rusk which should have been on the guest tea tray in the room. Outraging.
In addition we never managed to connect to the wi-fi despite two different reception ladies providing log in details, the window of the garden ground level room could not look properly and was left open by the cleaning staff (which we only realised the next morning so we actually slept with the window unlocked and no burglar bars...).
There were holes in the bed sheets, downlight over bef was broken and hanging loose, cold breakfast was choice of cornflakes or branflakes. In brief, very disappointing for a R850+per night B&B. Will definitely not stay there again.
