As the logistics manager for an international sports team, I've been delighted with my 4th stay at Southern Sun Bloemfontein and am looking forward to a further 3 week visit with our 25-strong team in 2024. The team is comfortable, happy and well rested here and the hotel can accommodate such large groups without overwhelming the facilities or other guests. Excellent and flexible response to any requests from the team - thank you.

Ideal professional venue for elite sports teams

As excellent as it was when I was last there in 2017. First class facility with friendly staff, very accommodating and in a good location in easy reach of some good restaurants and attached to the Mimosa Mall, which is good for essentials and has a few reasonable places to eat as well. The pool is well-maintained and very welcome.

Brilliant Staff, great venue and no apparent load shedding! This is the sixth time I’ve stayed here over the last 20 years. Excellent in all areas and won’t stay anywhere else. Looking forward to visiting next year. Thank you.

Excellent

Stayed for two weeks. Great hotel, clean, excellent food, bar, outdoor area and swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location also with connection into shopping centre. Will be returning.

Great hotel

The rooms are a little dated and the public areas inside are a little lacking in atmosphere but this is outweighed by the welcome and humour from all of the people working here, which was constant during our stay. The hotel general manager and the chef walked around daily and even in the late evening to make sure all guests were ok and were happy and relaxed to chat. It came across strongly that they were happy to have us as guests in their hotel. The front is quite ugly with basically a concrete car park but you are surprised by the large garden and pool at the centre which all rooms overlook, which is very nice. The hotel was very clean and food and drinks were fine with no complaints and breakfast was very good.

Had a wonderful experience. All the staff very very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and not to speak about the speedy room service I had received. Will definitely come again and again and again.

The hotel is right at the heart of the city and its east to locate, the accommodation 100% . Its easy to access Wi-Fi. the reception area has enough chairs to wait if there is a cue and the drop off is stunning, its just next to the door.

Although we were many, the client service experienced remained top and excellent treatment from staff and the cleanliness of the rooms were so 100%. I would definitely choose Bloemfontein Southern Sun everyday. 

Service Excellence

The hotel has great infrastructure. Nice pool and lovely garden settings with direct access to the garden if your room is located on the ground floor. Some recommended improvements would be add two point plugs and USB ports to charge devices. 

Breakfast was average but was good enough for the family.

Overall great stay for one night.

Tip: try and book room on the ground floor
