Pension Alte in the centre, 10 minute walk from station, below the Clock Tower includes restaurant and bar, plus in winter and rainy weather plenty of indoor spaces.

Easy relaxed check in, room was upstairs in attic, fine good bathroom, bed and tv, with window facing out back into side of hill; quiet.

Breakfast was very good, like 4 star hotel choices inc. desserts (!) and nice weather can sit on terrace outside looking onto a small park, plenty of indoor space.

For restaurant lunch and dinner, with outside guests too, indoor ground level atrium where pizza oven is, and downstairs cellar restaurant bar; same menu.

Food was good with a menu including soups, starters, pizza, pastas then chicken, pork etc. dishes and dessert (see pics), with good and relaxed service. Had a vegetarian pizza very good and a (slow cooked) ‘Sunday’ pork and mashed potato; did not need a knife to cut the pork, very tender.


Good Value Guesthouse and Restaurant

I didn’t stay at the hotel rooms at all but ate in the Restaurant and that needs to have a separate entry and category.
I was staying elsewhere but had been recommended to eat here which I gladly took as the reputation of the restaurant was exemplary.
I was not disappointed with the food quality in any way whatsoever. I stayed with soup, then had the traditional Sarmale with Pork meat and rice, plus cream and Polenta. For dessert it has to be the papernasi which is dough, curd cheese, cream and berry jam.
I didn’t think I could move after such a wonderful meal which I washed down with a couple of cheers and a black coffee. Just utterly 5 star and a good reason to go back to Sighisoara in itself!

The perfect Meal

Loved the ambience, food and specially the cellar experience. If you are into desserts do try them as they are generous and fresh. Traditional food was well cooked and would definitely recommend you to try the place if passing through the city.

Good food, desserts and ambience

The food was poorly at best. The regulars cooks must have been on leave based on earlier reviews of fellow travelers. Food was poorly cooked, the ingridients were cheap (tastless tomatoes, frozen fries, the garlic had to little garlic and to much cream).

The cooks on leave?

The title is not necessary a compliment. Unfortunately Sighisoara was a disappointment in terms of food and restaurants, but AltePost is better than the most; the food is ok, the service is good, the place looks clean and nice.

Better food than most Sighisoara restaurants

The B&B is located outside the old city walls, but just a couple of minutes away. We stayed here for two nights and had a large room, with a comfy bed and good pillows. They also cleaned the room and changed the towels, which isn't really necessary in my opinion for such a short stay. They usually serve a buffet breakfast, which wasn't available during our stay due to the pandemic and instead we chose from two options from the menu: either an omelette or a platter with salami, ham, cheese and some veggies. It was a good breakfast, enough to get your day started. I would definitely choose this place again.

Comfy B&B with a good location

We went to this restaurant led by all good review of this place. I will start by saying it’s not really reflecting my impression, after the 28th of December 2019’s visit. The waiters were slow in bringing the menus, picking up orders, the food was very bad and not reflecting the dishes’ names (my bf ordered pork traditional dish and received a mix of sausages). We waited plenty afterwards for table clean-up. The 2 stars are well disurved for the restaurant design and atmosphere - very cozy and warm!

Disappointing

Great Location to explore Sighisoara. With a rental car we found parking nearby, and check in was super quick/easy. Room was big, bright, clean with a great view. I liked the whole building, so much character. Friendly staff. Breakfast was great. We also stayed for dinner which we really enjoyed. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Location

We've been here a couple of times in the last 5 Years, and everytime the the food was great.
 You should try the "Goulash with mutton and potatoes" also "Papanasi" and trust me that you will come back for more.

Great Place and friendly staff.

Folks, I can only comment on the restaurant and on the limited number of menu items we had here. Which is:
1. Palincă de pere - pear palinka. Undiluted and potent - great for appetite and mood!
2. Ciorbă. All their ciorbas. We tried them all (took a couple lunches here). They're large, hot, tasty and come with a bold pepper and a loaf of bread. Dig in!

For these, for the nicely decorated restaurant and the polite staff - 5 stars. Also - not expensive, not pretentious, not a trap. Would come back anytime to sample more of the traditional ciorba.
