My boyfriend and I had our holiday at Quarteira for a week, and we wanted an economic accommodation. This was a perfect choice in terms of finance. The best thing is the staff, they are very friendly, and some of them even speak English too. The other good thing with this hotel is its location. Super close to the beach!! We did not even bring our phone or money with us, as if we were tired, just popped home, had a quick shower and than we simply continued our day. 

It must be a family business. There were two young ladies, one of them (Gill or Jill) understood English. They were very nice and were always smiling. They severed the breakfast, cleaned the corridor, basically worked all day. It is not their fault that the owner did not want to add any egg to the breakfast menu, - only ham, cheese, some bread, jam and a very basic cereal. I was not disappointed, because I already read the reviews of this hotel. But as a person who tries to avoid carbohydrates, this was not the best.

Our room, 134 was very small, but I did not see any little animal underneath the bed. It has been cleaned every day! The only problem with the whole building is (and again, this is not their fault!) that every room is facing to the breakfast hall, and it echos terribly. I could hear everything in the morning but even in the night. 

In fact, once at 2.30am a random, dodgy couple was talking loudly in front of our room, turned out they were waiting for the person who was in the room 133. I had to open our door and send them away. They left, but they were downstairs, and I still could hear them. They came back several times knocking 133. I could here something in that room, when these strangers were left for good, heavens know which kind of business wanted to do.
But even four or five o clock, people arriving from parties, every single morning, and slamming their door after a loud chatting in the hall. It felt like a high school camp, rather than a hotel or bed and breakfast.

I used to work as a receptionist, so I know that hospitality is a hard business, and I do not want to hurt the staff, as I said, they were very nice, - but eventually, I would think twice to come back here. Again, it's very cheap and the location is very very good and eventually we had an amazing time at Quarteira!

Very friendly staff

Arrived late Monday night and left early Friday morning. Stayed in Room 131. No change of towels, bin never emptied and room never cleaned - do not look at the toilet brush!!!  Ancient TV unreachable as hanging from ceiling and remote did nothing. Breakfast was corn flakes, ham and cheese squares with bread, rolls, butter and jam. Coffee and orange juice machines. Only good point was location near beach. Staff friendly enough. I wonder if anyone from Booking.com has actually stayed here.

Best avoided

Stayed 3 nights, on my own. I had 3 free days before going to a wedding in Quinta. This is really basic and cheap accommodation. My expectations were not high so I was not disappointed! I wanted to stay in Quarteira because its close to the beach and an easy 25 min walk into Vilamoura. Very vibrant beach area day and evening, mostly all Portugese families. Beach is 150 meters away and at the end of the road is an event stage. 2 performances whilst I was there, and all free, brilliant!
Very very basic breakfast, just bread, cheese, jam, cornflakes, hot drinks and juices.
Socket hanging off wall and shower fittings broken. A tip to find it is to drive along promenade (one way) and turn left where you see the event stage. Its opposite the sex shop!

Nightmare to find on little one way street.

There you can find friends under your bed (clockroachs, sneaks...) and people who scream in front of your door all night, the strict minimal. The floor was dirty, and the bed also... No hot water, for the price it was a shame. We ask if they clean one time a year or not at all ! We stay just one night because whe didn't have any other choice (last minute reservation) but it was one of the baddest room we had seen

If you have the choice, don't go

Stayed here for one night in July 2012 with wife and daughter en-route back to Faro airport from Praia Da Luz, so we could watch football (yes really!) on Saturday evening.
Found the place OK - it's opposite a Sex Shop!  Parking could be difficult as it's very near the beach promenade but managed to get a space on the same street.
I had only booked via Late Rooms a couple of days before and there was some confusion at reception over the room allocation.  The receptionist was very friendly and when we were eventually taken to the room, there was already someone's bag and mobile phone on the bed!  The receptionist just took them away, so I'm not sure what happened about that.
The room was set up for three, which left little space for cases etc.  In fact it looked like they'd shifted a desk out onto the balcony to fit in the single bed. The fixtures and fittings were old and worn out and the room generally was in a poor state.  Harsh lighting and the small TV mounted high on the wall.  
The beds were clean, though, and when we got the right remote control, the aircon worked pretty well.
We didn't stay for breakfast so I can't comment on that.  For what it was, I thought it was pricey (95 Euros for the room for three) but I chose it because it seemed the cheapest on the website, so what can you expect?
If you just want a place to sleep near the beach and you're not too worried about the niceties, then OK.   
They didn't take credit card, so had to pay cash.
I rated "Average" because we only stayed one night, but I would probably have rated it "Poor" had we experienced it for longer!

Just OK for a brief overnight stay

I stayed with my wife and daughter for a weekend in august 2011. The building is old and all infrastructure is old or damaged.

I was looking forward to a simple bedroom with bed and breakfast, but there are somethings I consider the bare minimal. Upon arriving to the room I saw that although there was two plastic bedside lamps they did not work. After moving aside one of the beds I saw why... they were not connected and the electrical outlet in the wall was somewhat damaged and without any cover.

For me this is a very risky situation that has no justification. I can support old or malfunctioning furniture, but the electrical instalation must be minimaly taken care off. The TV was a small CRT TV  bolted to the top of the ceiling that was 3 meters high. So don't count on seeing much TV.

The bed's mattress was so bad I did not sleep much the two nights I was there. 

For the breakfast you can choose cheese, ham, butter, bread, coffee and milk. There may be something more but these I am sure they have. It is not a buffet style breakfast.

Last, if you go by car, you may find that parking is kind of a problem because in the high season there are far too many cars for the number of available parking places. So cars park anywhere.

If you are young, without kids, and only want a place to crash a few hours before going on into the nighlife and going to the beach, and if you are not picky about your accomodations, then this might serve you. Anything else this will probably be not your best choice.

Hope my review helps your choosing... The best thing of going anywhere is having fun and a great time... don't let your accomodations get in your way. If you choose this hotel please don't expect much from it and you will probably enjoy more your holidays.
