we were here for only a short visit but we were well received and it's in a good position for excursions. The beds were ok, I do like a little more comfortable but saying that I slept the entire night rhough.

We arrived at 10 pm. When we called for code to open front door owner said she texted us but we had no service to get message . She gave us the code once but we wanted to write it down for the others in the group and she would not give it to us a second time. She was rude and kept saying I texted it, but we couldn’t get message. She absolutely refused to give code to us a 2nd time! The she accused someone in the group of not paying which lead to argument( he had his confirmation). Mattress terrible. No fan or air conditioning in any room. Tv didn’t work. Charged for towel and washer and hair dryer use. Would advise against this one for sure.  Not to mention lugging baggage up 3 flights of stairs. Should have paid a little more for a comfortable hotel room!

WORST HOSTEL I EVER STAYED AT. NO ATMOSPHERE. SAID I DIDN'T PAY WHEN I DID. 

Came in as a last minute option because I messed up reservations with another hostel. I paid with PayPal through booking.com upon making the reservation. When I arrived to the property, a nice Brazilian woman welcomed me. There is no reception, no computer, and she was basically in a laundry wardrobe with a little table and a paper book to copy my ID details. After the "check-in" she asked me to pay, however I told her I paid already. She was clearly new, and kept trying to call her boss to tell her about this. Even after showing the payment confirmation, and booking.com confirmation, she kept saying they had no booking.com account and I didn't pay. Damn ridiculous. In the end, I had to cancel the reservation through booking.com (the cancellation of which they could magically confirm with their non-existent booking.com account -_-) and pay on the spot. 

No maps given, no information about the city (she couldn't even tell me where the botanical garden was with the map in front of her). The room super small, beds very close together, only one bathroom. It felt like a little apartment converted into an improfessional money-maker. 

There was mould in the bathroom and in the rooms too. Apart from that reasonably clean. 

REALLY DANGEROUS AREA, didn't feel safe at night AT ALL.
