Okay, i generally book very late when I decide to travel somewhere and was beginning to panic when I realised most hostels were full so I was worried what sort of place this was going to be as there were several beds available, it was away from the center and was cheap. 

Imagine my surprise when I walked in, the place was spotless, the staff were amazing an best of all  the bathroom had underfloor heating and the shower was AMAZING with water coming at you from several directions. Also, they have a HOT TUB!!!! How cool is that!!!!! Plus the pet dogs are really cute although can get a little annoying when they are barking at night!

The staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the mountains and seriously, I was nearly in tears at the idea of having to leave!

They don't have 24 hour reception but they do leave a number to call if you need anything.

I will come back here next year for sure!

Hidden Gem

We stayed at the sunshine Hostel for 3 nights. The hostel is light and bright, beautifully clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Zakopane centre itself was a bit of a nightmare - ridiculously busy, touristy and tacky, but the location of the hostel is a bit away from this which was a relief, and the room we were in (the Giewont room) had amazing views of the mountains. I'd definitely recommend the hostel but would warn people not to head to Zakopane if they're looking for a quiet mountain retreat!

Spotlessly clean, beautiful views

i recently traveled to Zakopane, Poland to take my CASI level 1 for snowboarding and had the absolute pleasure of staying in the sunshine world chalet. Traveling on my own i was first apprehensive about what kind of place it would be and the people that would also being staying there. All of the little doubt that i had before i came was lifted when i stepped through the front door for the first time. The welcome that i received was warming and the mood and good feeling vibe was one that i have struggled to find anywhere else. if you are planning on visiting Zakopane then i would highly, highly recommend you book with sunshine world, it will be a decision you will never regret.

We recently stayed at the sunshine hostel in a double room for 3 nights. The hostel itself seems quite nice on first impressions as it is clean and quite modern. However it promises so much that it did not deliver. It advertises free wifi but when asked about this 'the wifi is not working'. It advertises a hot tub but when asked about this 'the hot tub is not working'... We were shown the dvd collection on the first night and told we could borrow them but on the second night as we were looking through them a different person told us 'guests are not allowed to borrow DVDs'... The bedsheet was not big enough to cover the bed and so we were half laying on a bare mattress. We paid for an ensuite room but the bathroom was tiny and even worse than that they only provided us with only half a toilet roll for two of us for three nights! They did not provide us with any more and there was never anyone at reception to ask for more so we had to go out and buy our own... Reception was only manned for a few hours a day and not at all on Sundays which was slightly disconcerting especially because of the dogs living in the hostel. We are dog lovers and were happy to meet the two resident dogs but were quite disturbed as there did not seem to be anyone looking after them and it seemed to be up to the guests to let them in and out. This was made worse by the fact that they barked ALL NIGHT. Keeping us awake for 3 nights running.

Extremely disappointing

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER: Don’t stay here even if they pay you to stay.

There was no one when we arrived and we waited outside on road for 20 minutes till a neighbour let us in.

Then we waited 30 minutes to check in but no one was there, we called but owner was not responding even, so we put our stuff in the open room and left after conforming from pictures that is similar to what we booked.

When we came back after dinner, the lock was stuck and it took 15 minutes to open it.

There was no wifi information.

There was no hot water at all, I had to shower with so much difficulty

I messaged the property many times but they you didn’t reply, I called many times too but again they didn’t reply.

There was no security, anyone can come in. And I was worried about locking the room because if it didn’t open like before then I will be locked inside and toilet was outside. I couldn’t even sleep in worry.

This booking gave me mental stress and anxiety of the likes I have never experienced before in all my travel.
