Arrived 2nd Oct for a 11 night stay for business. We went into reception at around 3pm and the receptionist was really abrupt with us. Not a happy person at all and should not be in this job if she is that unhappy. To me, a receptionist is the forefront of any hotel and should greet guests with a smile and courtesy. My room (121/1) had 2 single beds in it which were quite comfy. Electrical socket not secured into the wall and the bathroom air extractor was hanging out the ceiling above the shower (this was fixed on reporting it) . The shower head and bracket was very loose so directing water was a problem. The furniture was very old including a 3 seater sofa which took up a lot of room. I did have a fridge but it had no shelves to place anything on and was quite noisy. I think the room could be better organised even though it is an odd shape. The carpet is very dated and had some rather bad stains on it.
Although Breakfast is included, I found it very undesirable so did not bother with it. Although bread is provided, no toaster is available which I found strange. Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, cold meats, cheese and warm frankfurters were available. 
The weather was dry when we arrived but when the rain came, the gravel car park became waterlogged and so difficult to save shoes from getting dirty. I also witnessed persons being blocked in as there was not enough space to the front of the hotel.
Food in the main Bar/Restaurant I found very good and would recommend eating there!
I did have a massage in the Spa and have experienced quite a few elsewhere in previous years-but found it more of a body cream rub than a massage! Not recommend.
All in all I would not say this Hotel is deserving of 3 stars, maybe 1 or 2 at most. I stayed in the Glass House Hotel on my last visit and would rather stay there than the Willa Park.

Disappointing and not worthy of 3 stars

Great area in Zagan, good service and great staff. Additionally staff is accommodating and speaks English. Hotel is kept clean and in good condition. Hotel is located not too far from downtown Zagan. It is only a short  walk. The restaurant in the hotel has really good food.

Great Hotel in Area

This hotel is a historic building, with 15 foot ceilings and wide hallways, but it is past its prime and needs major reinvestment to bring it up to contemporary Western standards.

Having said that, for the price (about USD $50 a night), it's sufficient for a night stop... but next time, I'll try to find something a bit more modern.

Funky older building, a bit past its prime, but OK for a night stop

Stayed for 4 nights on a work trip. The rooms are all really different but that adds to the charm of the place i think. My room was very small but it had everything I needed. 

Breakfast and dinner service was always good, plenty of choice.

Nice hotel, quirky rooms, polite staff and decent food. Can't really ask for more than that.



Nice and quirky

What a bad stay.  We asked for the heating to be put on for 2 nights and it was refused both nights because the owner had said it wasn't the season. So we gave up asking again.   Our room was old fasioned with electrical problems, dust, old furniture and thin curtains that let the light in.   Decor from 30-40 years ago.  See the photos - electric problems and cobwebs and the cheapest of multi-use bathroom toiletries.   No kettle, no cups , no or tea coffee in the room.  The light coming in through the very thin curtains, the cold room and then  housekeepers talking loudly outside our room led to uncomfortable awakenings.   Then, breakfast.   We tried 2 mornings and then gave up because it was so bad.   When I complained about the cold eggs and sausage on the second day Aleksandra in Reception ushered me back to tell me to help myself to fresh juice (it was cordial not fresh) and coffee (instant) and said that she had re-opened the kitchen because I was late (it was 8:45 and apparently - though I wasn't even told - breakfast finished at a very early 8:30am) I showed the chef the stale, old bread with white mould and asked for some fresh bread.  5 minutes later I received 3 slices of fried bread that had blue bits of mould.  I went to explain this to Aleksandra again and was met by resistance, argument and dishonesty... Claiming that the bread rolls were baked fresh daily (they were stale, hard and dry) and that the sausage was perfectly fine before I told her that they were  cold and the buffet burners were not alight.   While talking to Aleksandra about our cold room (we were given a temporary electric heater that couldn't even stand up straight and so was dangerous) and cold breakfast, the owner walked past and she could  see that I was complaining and actually grimaced and walked quickly away and into the kitchen.  In 3 days I saw no staff member wear a mask or sanitise and there was very little evidence of Covid 19 precautions to keep guests and staff safe.    This hotel has a lot of potential but has an irresponsible owner with very low standards of customer service.    Avoid. 

We were treated badly 

Good location. Appeared clean but full of germ harbouring outdated frills & flounces. Curtains, table tops, on the bed...everywhere. Dinner was great as was breakfast but struggled to tell the difference between tea & coffee, not good. Friendly & helpful staff.

Blast from the past

I don't expect much from independent hotels in Europe, but this place surprised me.  I had the best dinner there in the whole ten days I was in Poland.  It was a buffet for our group of twenty, and I had to force myself to stop eating.  
I always got a beer when I wanted one, and although the staff I dealt with didn't speak English, they got their jobs done.
Most of the machines in the gym did not work, but the quiet residential neighborhood allowed for a safe run.
The room was fine, no issues there, and it appears they have filled the parking lot with gravel since the time others have commented on the mud.

Old building, good service and food

We have stayed here before , usual good standard , English speaking staff, decent food , we will stay again on our return trip in September .  Last time we stayed it was snow and ice , this time plus  28c , the room was quite cool , slept well , no noise after  10. 30  pm  !

One night stay on our way to  Nowy Sanz

The parking lot was wet and muddy.  The lobby smelled like whatever they must have been cooking in the kitchen.  Very disappointed that the front desk attendant barely spoke English although a lot of Americans stay there.  The breakfast was not that great.  The rooms needed major renovations but at least it was somewhat clean.

Not for me!

We arrived last night , the car park is muddy , it had been raining , staff nice , room clean , restaurant quite good , waitress new at the job , but trying hard .  No  wine , had Piwo instead .  Noisy fridge in room  ,  we will use again on our trips to Nowy Sanz .   We are on our way to  Edam this morning , and back to England on Saturday .   Beware the  A4  road  , 2 hour hold up due to road works , 12 KM  tailback , 4 blokes with shovels , and they still charge  16-20 Zlotys toll  !
