Stayed here for two days. Great WIFI and AC. Didn't have a room and literally walked by it and saw the owner and asked if there were rooms and if I could see them. Saw the rooms and the location is everything. So close to bars and the young  party crowd. I got a private room with my friend and really enjoyed the stay. It's clean and quite. Casey was so caring and helpful! I hurt my leg at another island and she was so helpful with helping me take care of it. She is actually a nurse in El Nido, so I felt very comfortable here, with their great hospitality. They have good rates on tours and transportation as well. Will be definitely be coming back here.

Helpful Sweet Staff, Great Wifi, Clean Rooms!

We moved to this place from another, as the rooms were spacious and decent shower.  It was a very clean place, and right in the centre of the town. The staff are very friendly and will help in any way possible.  Great Budget accommodation.

The hotel was in a great area, easy to get to everything you want to do in town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small but perfect for two people.

Shipwreck hotel

Stayed in here with my girldfriend for 5 nights for almost $50/night. We have been traveling around south east asia for 2 months and this was the most expensivest but also the worst.

I have to fair. You get what is shown in the pictures. Central location yet quiet at night. Very friendly staff that will help you to book any tour o transportation. Decent room, comfy bed, private bathroom, fan and aircon.

But they were major issues that made our stay the worst of all our trip:
- Ants everywhere, even in bed and pillows. Coackroaches and worms coming out of the drain almost everyday. You can leave your toothbrush in there because of that. 
- False ceiling full of rats that makes a lot of noise during night time. Fortunately no one actually enter the actual room.
- Almost every metal suface in the room has rust. Doorknobs of the main door and bathroom door had so much rust the cant even close properly. 
- Wc clogged during our hole stay, we have too keep asking to fix it.
- They switch off the aircon everyday, so you have to keep on asking to turn them on.
- Even though every activity in el nido is in sea/ beach, they dont have a place where you can hang your things to dry out. Everything is moist after 1-2 days.

In conclusion, its no worthy to pay that money for the room that you get. I recommend you to get a shared room in a good hostel or spend $100-150/ night for a decent and rat free hotel room.

JUST NOT WORTHY

It’s sometimes difficult to write a negative review for a place you stay in when the staff are genuinely nice and attentive, however I feel like this review needs to be written.

We were given room no.3 when we arrived which was on the bottom floor. Hardly any room or real light as windows faced the walls. 

I got bitten at least 20 times by bed bugs during our first nights stay - something which has never happened before (and we’ve stayed in some budget accommodation before right through to top end hotels. Needless to say, this ruined my whole experience. 

WiFi wasn’t that great though kind of expected from El Nido so something to bear in mind. 

Overall the place does need looking into wether that’s pest control to get rid of the bed bugs or a general clean out and basic renovation of the rooms. There are other places that seem to have better reviews in and around El Nido.

WORST STAY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED

When we arrived we were informed that the room we booked was unavailable so they upgraded up to a different room. Unfortunately this room was infested with ants. It was a tiny cramped room with windows looking at cement walls. Could have got past the stained sheets and dungen like feel but the ants all other the walls and roof were too much. We had to leave. They wouldn't refund our money either. DON'T STAY HERE!

We didn't stay and i wouldn't recommend.

Worst experience...El Nido constantly experiences brownout, and since May and June are peak season there, they alternate power from one side of town to the other. so from midnight until morning there is no power. We stayed 3 nights and for two nights slept without air conditioner or fan. Absolutely suffocating. Management refused to turn on generator, saying that it's the island's policy not to run the generator after midnight. They know they have this problem, but they don't inform their guest until they have checked in. They ask guest to submit their passport upon check in. Beware.....it's just a way to demand payment....they will refuse to return your passport unless you pay them what they want.....expedia should remove this hotel from its list.....

Terrible hotel

Don't stay here and don't provide your passport as security! They invent room damage and ask for a ridiculous $ to pay for it, and try to hold your ID to extort it.We stayed at Shipwrecked Pension 4 nights in April 2017, and thought it was an OK place despite the cockroaches and what sounded like rats in the attic (look up other reviews on that) - not the nicest place we stayed but the town was packed. That is, until our last night there when they tried to scam us for made up damage.The owner claimed we stained the bed with blood on our 1st night there (3 days earlier, and no one said a word about it before), that the mattress protector was ruined in the laundry as a result, and we have to pay 3,500p (ridiculous inflated cost for such a basic item, which I also know from personal experience is easy to clean). She had pictures of blood stained sheets which could have been from any  time, and didn't show us the actual damaged items. We never saw any blood on the sheets, or on any of our own things, and surely would have noticed such significant bleeding as was in the picture. We discussed it with her at length that night and refused to pay as we did not cause any damage. The next morning at checkout they refused to return my ID unless we pay. Fortunately I only gave an almost expired ID as security, not my passport. So we just left it behind and walked away. We had to catch a bus otherwise we would have gone to the police.
