Ica's Desert House

Slightly outside of the centre of Ica, which if anything is a good thing because Ica's streets can be noisy at night. Rooms were simple but clean and the beds very comfy. There was even hot water for showers! 

Host family are very kind and welcoming and go above and beyond. 

We had trouble finding the place as it doesn't have signage saying its a B&B. a group of nuns from a near by school helped identify the walled compound and once inside we felt well cared for.

Bunk beds in one room held the 5 of us comfortably.
The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Had a nice pool but we didn't use it, too tired! we felt like we were the only travellers there.

We went sand boarding in the desert which is very near by with a short 5 minute taxi ride to the Oasis area. The Oasis is full of restaurants and hostels and I heard party town!

If you want a quiet, clean and comfortable spot the Desert House is ideal. Would recommend it for families.

It was a great place to stay. Everything was very clean, especially the bedroom and beds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to book all the tours we wanted at the hostel itself. The only downside is that it is quite far from the center, though it is easy to find a cab or tuk tuk to take to the center and these are cheap. The price of the hostel was also good as well.

Just what was needed

close to the Huachina but away from the noisy night life

Great place to stay

This is a very small hostel in a residential home that fits only about 8 travelers. It's a 15 minute taxi ride from Huacachina and about 20 minutes from the city center. 

Pros: The hosts were helpful and the place was clean. Wifi was reliable.

Cons: The rooms were very small and in order to get to the bathroom we had to walk outside and downstairs - which was very inconvenient (and cold!). Construction is going on for a new upstairs bathroom so if you book here, I'd recommend asking for a bed in the downstairs room until that project is complete. 

It was fine for one night and the price was low compared to other hostels in the area but we wished we had stayed in Huacachina because there wasn't anything within walking distance of the hostel and the amenities weren't great enough to so far away.

Clean but very small and inconvenient location

Had planned to stay here for 3 nights - stayed one night. The brother and mother who own this hostel were really lovely, helpful and helped me with getting taxis etc. The problem is the location, it was so far from everything (from the centre and huacachina). So there was nothing to do and i was bored. Also, there is no breakfast included. I was the only one in the dorm which was noisy at night because of the busy road. 
Go to a hostel in huacachina.
