We loved the Madang Lodge Hotel! We stayed in one of their apartments overlooking the swimming pool with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Our most memorable things are: swimming pool, air-conditioning (with backup generator for power blackouts), friendly staff (especially Martha & Daniel), comfortable rooms, good food, good security, beautiful gardens (staff with excellent attention to detail) and an on-site artist/ sculptor who will do a custom carving for you!!!! We will definitely stay there next time we're in Madang!

Have breakfast beside the Pacific Ocean

The staff was courteous and helpful. I had to have someone check out the TV to get it working but they came quickly and it was dealt with efficiently. The room was clean and sufficient although perhaps a little old. The view was beautiful and it was quiet.

More than sufficient for an overnight!

It was amazing. The place is so beautiful  gardens and flowers are well maintained. The location of the restaurant  wind hauses and the beachfront are so beautifully  laid out.I have already recommended this place to my families and friends. Very quiet and amazing place to relax and enjoy the confort of  Madang Lodge.

Five day stay at Madang Lodge.

Madang Lodge hotel is one of the most family friendly hotel in Madang. Situated at the seaside the view is stunning! Staff are friendly and the price is quite reasonable. I will choose this hotel should I next visit Madang.

Family Friendly hotel

Our family loves the Madang Lodge Hotel. We have stayed in their Finisterre Apartments several times in the last two years. What we love most: The excellent service and friendliness of the staff; the swimming pool; air-conditioning; comfortable rooms; good food at the coffee shop and restaurant; back-up generator that ensures constant power; and the security. And of course, the beautiful gardens and great views.

The Lodge is our preference when it comes to Madang and we look forward to our next trip there.

Great views, Excellent Service, Comfortable Rooms

My family (two adults, 3 kids) loved staying in the apartment overlooking the ocean.  The beautiful pool was maybe 20 meters away, but safely fenced in.  Everything was incredibly clean.  We were there during the COVID-19 lockdown, so there were few other guests, but the atmosphere was quiet, calm and safe.  It was cheaper than other locations in Madang, but I think it was just as nice as the Resort.  Besides, having a kitchen and living room was a huge benefit for us which we didn't find anywhere else.  Two restaurants on location--both had good food and friendly service.  The only disadvantage is that it's a few kilometers from most other things in town, so you'll need to bring a vehicle or use the hotel shuttle.

Great apartments for family.

Awesome place to spend a weekend out with your girlfriend or boyfriend just like i did with my girlfriend.  
Enjoyed my short stay there. It's quite beautiful I'd prefer Madang lodge would be the best if you'd like to choose from the hotels in madang.

Holiday tour

The Madang Lodge is one of those hotels not found very often in PNG, small, comfortable, friendly and relatively cheap. It is located on the foreshore about a kilometre south of the town. It has units for couples and families, and apartments for larger groups. The smaller units have A/C, ensuite, small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The TV in our unit was a little old an difficult to use but the slightly more expensive units have flat screens.There is free wifi but it is erratic and patchy (as was the hotel phone). Nice restaurant and bar with good food reasonably priced.Also balcony dining with views over to the Finisterre ranges (3000m).They will cook fish you catch or buy from the local fish markets. Friendly, helpful staff with the girls mostly from Milne bay (apinun Shirley 😊). Friendly australian owner/manager Diane, who knows everyone and everything. Nice pool with shade and sea views.Beautiful landscaped gardens. 24 hour security. Hotel bus will take you around if free. 

Small Friendly Hotel

Excellent hotel in Madang as well as wonderful feeling of being really looked after by absolutely wonderful owners and employees. 
The lodge has different rooms/appartements for every budget but all have access the the facilities (gym swimming pool, restaurant...) and they are very clean, in good conditions. The communal areas for budget rooms are also really cleaned and practical. The food in the restaurant is good, and you have different menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the employees are really friendly and helpful. Also, the drivers of the lodge will be very happy to take you at the market or elsewhere in Madang. I really recommand the lodge to anyone, solo travellers or families.

Excellent hotel in Madang

I stay at the MLH every time I come to PNG to do research. The grounds are expansive and beautifully maintained, the rooms are spacious, and the staff are friendly and tend seriously to any of your needs. The management is run like a well-oiled machine, and I cannot thank them for all the assistance they've been to me. Drivers can be hired during the day to take you about town, and that can be a real help if you want to buy food at a store or the open-air market. The restaurant has very good food, and it can be a nice option if you're otherwise cooking for yourself. Be sure to ask for a room with a kitchenette if you'll need to cook for yourself.

WiFi can be a bit spotty, but there is always a good connection at the restaurant, and the staff will attempt to put you in a room with better connectivity when you make a reservation. Keep in mind that this is Papua New Guinea, and you are well outside the capitol. The management is always improving things, and this applies to the internet access as well.

The pool provides you a chance to get some exercise without leaving campus, and folks seem to get good use out of the exercise room. There is also a Sipik employee on hand who will carve you wooden items on native wood on commission. The Sipik men are known throughout PNG for their carving traditions. You don't need Tok Pisin to get by at the MLH, but if you pick up a little, you will be able to thank housekeeping for their attentiveness.

I highly recommend the MLH, and I refuse to stay anywhere else in Madang. The lodge is a gem on the isle!
