What a wonderful place, we really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The hotel location is what we like so much especially that it’s near wadi bani Khalid, Whaiba sands and easy to go sur, Ashkara and Masira.. I recommend it

Before we booked our hotel stay, we had corresponded months in advance with the Manager/Owner over WhatsApp. He had helped us with precise directions and answered all our queries happily.

The day we arrived, they were surprised to find us there. It looked like we might have been the only guests there. But that didn't affect the service one bit. We were greeted by the owner couple who were themselves visiting from Muscat. We were introduced to Mr. Gopal, the cook, who took excellent care of our pure veg Indian food needs. The owner also helped organise 2 drivers for us - one for our excursion to the nearby Wadi Bani Khalid... and the other for the sunrise view at Wahiba Sands. Both the drivers were polite, charged reasonable and felt safe.

The hotel itself looked like a vast property, parts of it still getting developed. There's a whole lounge area done up in traditional Omani style, with lowlevel plush seating, coffee table with a thermos of hot coffee, some dates and a water bowl. The outdoors have ample visitor parking, children's play area, a garden with aloes, date trees and some more vegetation. There also seemed to be some kind of outdoor party area for family functions or such.

It was nice to come out in the night to gaze at the moon, the stars and what appeared to be a part of the galaxy. 

The outdoors were also fitted with sensor-lighting which i appreciated.

Our room was spacious for 2 people, the bathroom large with a tub. After we came back from Wadi Bani Khalid, we enjoyed a good soak time in the tub :)

The food was delicious for all our meals. We were free to choose from the fruits Gopal ji generously offered. He also made awesome espresso and cold coffee for us. We weren't given an itemised bill though, it was a blanket charge of 7 OMR for 2 people.

We wish we had a longer stay here. If you are planning to visit Al Asharqiyah Sands and Wadi Bani Khalid like us, this is your place to sleep the night off.

For directions - go off the exit 159 on Muscat-Sur highway. We came via Mwasalat Bus and our driver already knew the hotel, so he dropped us precisely there. Another landmark to confirm the location is the Maha Petrol Pump located at exit 159. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the petrol pump complex.

Convenient Location, Well-Maintained and Affordable

We wanted to go to wadi Ben Khalid and found this nice and beautiful hotel on the way. Everything was clean, the apartment suite was bright and quit and the sign on the top, "feel free like at home" describes it perfect. We spent five days here and the manager Mohammed is so nice, to tell you everything about the country, the culture and the history of Oman, if you want. We would like to say thanks to everyone at the hotel, especially to Mohammed, who also drove us in the morning to the desert, to see the sunrise. Greets from Ronny and Katha and all the best.

A perfect stop in the desert

The hotel may not be the most charming, but the staff is doing a great job, the food at the restaurant is really good and the rooms are clean and have all you need. All in all the price is excellent for what you get!

The Oriental Nights is a small hotel that is plenty comfortable.  We stayed in some new rooms that didn’t yet have WiFi, but it’s available in the Lobby.  We received a helpful email ftom the hotel prior to our arrival.  If you don’t want to pay the high prices for a desert tour or Wadi tour, then this is an ideal place to stay.  The roads to get here ftom Muscat are great.  We went on an awesome desert sunset tour.  They do have a restaurant but choices are limited.  Not really anywhere else to eat close by.  We appreciated the friendly staff.

Comfortable, Clean and Expanding.

We stayed for one night, a transit in our trip from Nizwah to Wadi Bani Khalid. Despite it was a short stay, it was so remarkable in our tour in Oman; thanks to Mohammed Alhajri, the hotel owner. 

The hotel has apartments of spacious and clean rooms and expected amenities. The owner works at the reception, and he left his dinner to meet and greet and show us our apartment, and we've done the paperwork later. 

The owner runs car trips to the dunes of Wahiba Sands before the sun rise, and I can't describe how beautiful to join him in this adventure. I've got some of the most amazing pictures from where he showed us around in the dunes.

We had a wonderful stay

We only stayed there for one night, in transit from Nizwa to Wadi Bani Khalid. We were impressed by the spacious room we got for three people (like a penthouse): one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, another bedroom with twin beds with a separate bathroom, a kitchen and a hall with sofas to rest. Super clean, with all the amenities we could look for on our road trip: hot water, comfy beds, clean bathroom with towels and soap, quietness. It was wonderful to wake up with the deep "Allahu akbar" call, always so penetrating and moving! We didn't try the breakfast, instead we joined the lovely owner, Mohammed, to an early morning trip to the sand dunes. Couldn't thank him enough for his generosity, his big smile, he treated us like family and we shared with him extremely interesting conversations on current affairs and Science –look for him when you stay there and join him to go to the Mosque early in the morning or to a sand dune trip.

Wonderful hotel, spotless service and superb location

When we arrived at the hotel, we've been a bit scared because from the outside it doesn't look great. But in really it was great. As a family of 5, we had 2 huge rooms  with bathroom in the new building. They were super clean and confortable.Staff was fantastic too. Very friendly and willing to please us.Best of all... the cheap price we paid for a night in Oman !

Great place to stay

Convenient location where very few hotels are available. Friendly staff, good room, clean. Food reasonable quality, not The Grand Hyatt but we came to visit the Wadi Bani Khalid and get a meal and a place to sleep.
