We stayed at this delightful B&B in Napier in September of 2014.  It is perched way up on a hill in a suburban neighborhood overlooking Napier and the ocean. We did have a dickens of a time finding it as first as IMaps on my phone had us going round and round in circles.  Eventually we called and Jill, the owner helped us navigate our way there.  We had the top floor room and recommend it highly.  Jill and Allen were wonderful hosts.  Allen even drove us into town the first night for dinner because we didn't yet have the lay of the land.  We caught an inexpensive cab back to The Landing.  Jill and Allen's breakfast was just perfect with a table looking out at the same great view as from our room.  The next day, a rainy Saturday, we walked around town looking at all the great Art Deco architecture and then drove around the surrounding area visiting wineries.  That night we stayed in noshing on goodies we collected that day and drinking some of the local wine treasures we collected that day.  Just a wonderful experience never to be forgotten.  By the way, Trip Advisor folks, you should not just limit the "when did you travel section to only the current year".

Wonderful view, delightful hosts

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Landing in Napier; it was among our best of lodgings during our 3 weeks in New Zealand.  Jill was a superb host, making us feel welcome and serving a delicious breakfast.   We had the choice room [also the most expensive & perhaps a bit over-priced], from which we had a view over the bay.  Even if a bit pricey, everything was attractive and comfortable.  We recommend Jill and The Landing to anyone traveling through Napier.

Excellent -- One of our best accommodations in NZ

Westayed here 1 night during our 3 weekstrip through New Zealand.
We stayed in the studio, which is the smallest room in The Landing.
We strongly recommend that if you want to stay here you should pay the extra money to stay in one of the nicer rooms which also look out to the bay.
Out of the 20 or so hotels we visited in New Zealand, the night in the Landing had one of the worst price-preformance ratios because it is extraordinarily expensive but the studio is definitely not woth the money.

Here are the details of what we liked and did not like so much:

First what we liked:
+ The hosts Jill and Alland are really amiable and forthcoming hosts
+ We were allowed to park for no extra charge in the garage
+ Jill even offered us to drive us to a restaurant for dinner 
+ From the breakfast room (and probably the other rooms) you have a really magnificent view of Hawkes Bay
+ The breakfast was really good

Here is what we didn't like so much:
- The studio is relatively small and the room plan is a bit unpractical
- The bathroom is really small
- The studio has no view of the bay
- The furniture is relatively worn (e.g. bedside table looks really used)
- The carpet is relatively old and in my opinion would need renewal or a thorough steam cleaning for us to feel comfortable
- The cleanliness in the room was not 100% up to our standard and it felt a bit dusty everywhere - also the bathroom had some corners where cleanliness was not like in a 4 star hotel
- The overall value for money was not great in the studio because you pay the very high price for the Landing but only get the medium value of the studio

Great hosts but don't take the studio

The Bayview suite has a unique view over the whole bay and provides for all possible comfort. Jill and Allan are wonderful hosts, pointing out all areas of interest and great restaurnts nearby. Great breakfast.

Excellent B&b

My partner and I stayed at The Landing for one night in early March this year. We were in the lookout room with views over the ocean from the bed. Our room was very big and had all the things we needed (including a jar of home made cookies and a bottle of wine in the fridge). The B&B is at the end of a cul-de-sac and it's very quiet at night. Jill and Alan were great hosts and we felt very welcomed. 
Make sure you leave enough time for breakfast - Jill's home made granola and spreads are heavenly and the views are stunning.
