How can I talk about "Opal Hotel Aswan" it is a wonderful time I can take ever , 💙
I have been here a great deal and I want to thank you for your hospitality each time, 
when I see the Nubian culture and live with it for a some  days I can't figure out how days very fast passes and I think I need to live there,🥹 the food in Opal is Offering food in an attractive way  and The Surprising Food Flavor filling and I want More of it. I would  like to thank all the amazing team and the place for the wonderful days I spent, and I will definitely repeat the experience again in Sha'Allah 💙💙💙

I've traveled in Nepal and received only good behavior from the natives except for this time. After negotiation they called us from the streets of Thamel. After entering the hotel with our backpacks, after a 10 days trek, the manager (from what it looked like) misbehaved with us. He said he would provide us a room but we can't turn on the AC. But we negotiated for an ac room. When my friends explained, he started shouting and misbehaving. It was a very bad experience. I would not recommend this place. At all.

Very poor behavior

One of the hotel stuffs showed us a room for three people and after some bargaining we settled for a reduced price of what they were initially asking for the room. But when we were about to go to our room with our bags (we left them in the lobby) another hotel stuff started saying that we weren't allowed to use the AC if we were to pay the reduced price. When my friend told him that it was not mentioned beforehand, he became very angry at her and started swearing in Nepali and started shouting, saying that it was not her "father's country", that she couldn't do anything to him or to the hotel and so on. Of course we didn't stay there longer to know more about what he had to say, but we could safely assume it was full of more profanities.

I found this hotel by walk-in.
The hotel is in an Ok location in Thamel.
The room condition is ok for one night stay with a budget mind.
The room has A/C which is good in Thamel area where I feel hot and humid and sweat.
Mattress is not too bad.
The bedsheet and pillow cases and towel are ok. 
They have wooden floor, which is better than carpet.
I like the writing desk, small dining table set and a tiny carbinet they provided.
There is a TV set in room.
The bathroom can be made better though.
It is ok to stay for a night.

The price and room condition is like 'you get less than what you pay for'
But this might be because here is Thamel area.

Ok for a night stay on budget

We had a truly disastrous stay at this hotel.  The site offered transport from the airport.  We submitted our info but they did not turn up to pick us up.  On arrival they claimed the hotel just changed management.  The room was not clean but could have been nice, I guess.  The hotel claimed there was internet and hot water.  There was no hot water and no internet that functioned.  The "new" management continued to lie about their services and at some point after a day we decided to leave due to all the continuing problems.

Stay away from this place.

Bathroom didn't appear to be cleaned fully between guests. Wardrobe has random clothes in it. Some bulbs needing replaced. WiFi on top floor not great. Staff were very friendly and helpful, bed was clean and very comfortable. Super location too.

Could be cleaner, but very good value

Was there for the last night of my Nepal trip. Hotel was in the outer Thamel. Hot water and clean rooms were the plus points. People were friendly and helpful. Side of the hotel have a restaurant "Hello Kitty" it was simple and owner was good as he put the heater on entire time we stayed there. 
Some construction was being near to hotel so it was a little noisy, but apart from that it is a good choice to be here.

這是我在尼泊爾的最後一晚, 飯店就在Thamel, 熱水和乾淨的房間非常加分!! 櫃台人員都非常友善, 飯店隔壁有一家叫做 "Hello Kitty" 餐廳提供著各式餐點和冷熱飲, 用餐時老闆擔心我們會冷還提供了暖爐在座位附近, 唯一一個小缺點是飯店隔壁正在施工, 所以有點小吵雜, 但除此之外De Hotel Veda是一個不錯的選擇

Hot water all day!!

The location of the hotel is super, and easy to get around to anything else in Thamel. The staff is very warm, welcoming and super helpful. They have a small office where they will gladly help you to book and kind of tour, taxi, shuttle, etc. Absolutely strugglefree stay. The room was big and clean. 

The Hello Kitty (don't get fooled by the name) restaurant nextdoor serves the breakfast, which was very nice and tasty. Also had dinner there a couple of times and have some really great things on the menu. 

Will definitely stay here again when I come back to Kathmandu next time :)
