It was a huge room but very dark with wood panelling and lighting that just did not dispel the shadows.  bed reasonably comfortable but unfortunately the noise from the road kept me awake and the party held by a group of guests on first night was terribly loud - a very poor karaoke!.  It was out of season so cool mornings and evenings that made the room feel just faintly damp. A large insect in the bathroom put me off a little but it was a one off and no others turned up! Furnishings a little tired.  Lovely patio area to each room that looked over the swimming pool.  Again garden looked a bit tired and could do with some attention.  Staff very welcoming and friendly.  Breakfast was rather strange with limited options but providing you are willing to try Myanmar food then ok.  I guess given the price it was good value.

Reasonable hotel for price

Located near Yar Khin Thar: good shopping and restaurant area! 
Room are clean and spacious enough but toiletries average! Breakfast not many variety! Pool is not clean. But overall, good to stay in!!!

Vacation

The delight here was the swimming pool.  Although I hadn’t expected to use the pool, it was lovely after a hot morning visiting the temples.  Unlike other reviewers here, I found it clean.

The rooms are simple but spacious, and ground floor rooms around the pool are probably the best, although not luxurious. Rooms don’t have safe-boxes, you are given your own safe in reception.   

No restaurant in the evening, but several good restaurants within a very short walk.  Laundry was cheap and efficient too. 


Loved the pool

I stayed three nights here as part of an organised tour.  This lovely family run hotel is built in the traditional Burmese style.  My huge room overlooked the pool and had a great deck.  Airconditiomed, bar fridge with soft drink & complementary water and a hair dryer. The room had no safe, but a locker system in the reception area worked okay.  Wifi was intermittant, but there was a great little restaurant just down thr road with good wifi to go with your latte.  Dont expect a 5 star breakfast spread here... this was very basic.  
Lovely staff, but always leave your room key as you venture out sightseeing to guarantee your room will be attended to.
Lost power one night (a regular problem all over Myanmar) however we were up & running within 20 minutes when their generator fired up. 
There is an abundance of excellent restaurants down the road from the hotel, from traditional to western food.  I dined at the Fabulous Aromas2 under the guidance of their host Raja ... a fabulous host.  
Overall a lovely experience, and especially loved the pool..

Ttraditional Burmese Style

Well located to visit Bagan, near both temples, restaurants and local market as well. Nice breakfast on the roof top. But wifi is too weak that cannot use even at lounge. Small lovely garden with swimming pool but quite dirty to swim. Generally acceptable with prices.

My first time in Yar Khin Thar , Friendly staffs helpful , love to swimming and I think reasonably good price to stay , good place in new bagan not so far to Old Bagan. Closed good restaurants like Weather Spoon. 

But Breakfast should be ok. 

Nice sleep 

Yes, it is a bit down-at-heel, but makes up for it in other ways! My room - in one of the garden bungalows - was airy and huge, with plenty of racks to put your case and hang things. I could even open the window for fresh air! There was masses of space in the bathroom as well for toiletries and clean clothes for after your shower. The bed and pillow was comfy and clean, as was the room. There was also a small outdoor patio with table and chairs to relax/read, overlooking the garden and pool. Well-lit at night. It had all the add-ons you might need: TV, hair drier, fridge, tea/coffee. Breakfast was not first-class, but perfectly adequate, and a pleasant roof-top setting. It's not a "fancy" modern glass & chrome sort of place, but friendly, helpful and personal. Laundry was done cheaply and well.
It has a money-changer 5m from the front door, and plenty of restaurants just down the road, along with tourist shops, rental places etc. And a pleasant 30 min walk to the Nyuang U market.
The only negatives I could point out were the totally inadequate bedside light in the room, and the fact that the key to the padlock of your safe deposit locker opens more than just your locker!! So I suggest you have your own padlock!
Also the 24-hr chanting from the temple behind the hotel was rather annoying at 2am! (Though hardly the hotel's fault!)

I so enjoyed this hotel!

For somewhere to rest up after a long day at the temples, this is a perfectly ok hotel.  Yes, it's a bit dated and the lighting in the rooms is a bit weak. However, it's clean, quiet and comfy.  I actually had some good sleeps here.  

The breakfast on the roof was ok - the coffee filter couldn't keep up with the demand, but we survived and managed to fuel up for the day!  

No safes in rooms, but lockers by reception were provided.  

Good location and within walking distance of the markets, restaurants and local cottage industries.
