We arrived at 3am, host met our driver and walked us through the empty pedestrian only streets, served us their mint tea and gave us a tour. We were the only people staying there for 2 of our 3 nights, which was nice but a bit awkward for our private meals. The host spoke mostly French and Arabic, no English at all. We had a very hard time conversing about the simple things like what time we wanted breakfast or dinner or where we wanted it served. We also had an issue with our safe and couldn't communicate. All of our drivers and guides and other people we came in contact with knew at least a little English or tried. The room was pretty and air conditioned (thank goodness even in November), and it was very very almost eerily quiet.  The fresh flowers and petals and water was a very nice touch. Probably more for a couple than other travelers. The rooftop was nice for our one dinner but again, awkward.

Luxurious but Awkward

the Marrakech experience already starts with the way that brings you to this fantastic place: We followed our guide through a labyrinth of narrow streets, a corner and another corner, people walking and greeting, children playing in the streets and all of a sudden we arrive at Riad Basim. It is in a quiet neighborhood but still within walking distance from different places of interest.  We felt immediately at home, the whole team led by our host Sylvia gave us a warm welcome and cared for us during the whole week. Every single morning we started with a sumptuous breakfast on the roof terrace. Freshly brewed tea every time we returned to the Riad allowed for a short relaxing break to let sink in all the impressions from our different excursions. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We were three couples and had a fantastic week.

Awesome place for a gentle Marrakech immersion

The place is ideally located and you can reach the best spots in Marrakech very quickly. Directly when you arrive you feel a very pleasant atmosphere. It is very calm, peaceful. The staff and the owners will do everything to make you feel comfortable, offer excellent service and give great tips. The cook is amazing! We had great breakfast, and diner on the terrace with the sunset. The place is very clean and calm. The rooms are big, very well decorated and comfortable. 
I strongly recommend it!

Amazing place in center of Marrakech

This small Riad is wonderful and is the perfect place to experience Marrakech. It is incredibly quite and peaceful and it is located in Kasbah neighbourhood,  in walking distance to the Jem al Fnaa. The patio and the rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. The Riad is run by a very friendly and helpful Swiss-Moroccan couple. We had breakfast on the roof terrace which is literally built on the ancient city walls., with view on the surrounding park Excellent WiFi. Good restaurants in the neighbourhood. We will be back!

A hidden gem in Marrakech

The riad basim was our starting as well as ending point of our Morocco roundtrip. We spent in total 4 nights there, which we really enjoyed. The rooms are beautiful furnished and clean. The breakfast was always scrumptious and served on the terrace, where you can spend time on sunbeds if you like. We highly recommend this riad which is managed by Sylvia. The Marocco flair combined with Swiss quality and reliability is perfect.

Amazing Riad Basim

Well situated in warking distance from the centre, quit, really  very beautiful,  clean, comfortable,   wonderful view from the terrace,  the owner and the staff very kind and heatful. We spend a very special time and hope to coming one more time!

Little riad with a great heard

This is a most lovely and wonderful small Riad. It is located in walking distance to the centre and in a very authentic neighbourhood. The service (pick-ups and transport to and from airport) it provides is superb, reliable and punctual. Breakfast is served on the lovely roof terrasse at anytime one wishes. Information for what to see and visit and do is superb and organised if requiered. All the rooms have their own charm and let's one dive straight into that exotic oriental feeling! Highly recommended!

Amazing Riad Basim!

For a first-timer in Marrakech, I didn't know what to expect arriving very late and landing in the Kashba. I only spent a week-end, but it was truly exceptional.  I had a great and comfortable room, with a decor belonging to a "one-thousands night story". I met the owners in the morning and this is where I discovered true hospitality inviting me for a beautiful Sunday meal (a delicious tagine) with friends in a superb dinning room setting. Mohamed (the owner) looked after me as if i was royalty even guiding us to my next accommodation in the centre of the Medina to make sure I would not get lost. I wish i could have stayed longer.

Great Marrakech hospitality in that little Riad

Very good location, in walking distance to the center but very quiet and safe area, beautiful view from the terrace where you ll have breakfast, the rooms are super cute, clean and very comfortable , the owner take very good care of her clients needs and wishes , the staff helpful and smiling ,definitely a must go Riad to have a special time in Marrakech.
