So welcoming we arrived around 20.30 was given a welcoming drink which was very nice.  The staff then made us a lovey meal even though it was late for dinner to be served.  Whilst we were eating the lovely man went and bought me and my husband birthday cake as it was my birthday and my husband’s a couple of days before.  

It’s a lovely clean place to stay nice and quiet but only minutes from the square .

A lovey place to stay

This is absolutely the best place in Marrakesh. Just enough located outside of the extremely touristy city centre, however, just a 10 minute walk. The owners are super nice intelligent, entrepreneurial women, with a good amount of humor. Also the staff is extremely friendly. We are thankful for the stay and making us arrive gently in the busy but oh so beautiful Marrakesh. Thank you so much 🙏🏼. Oh and on top of that, the breakfast is also great, with a royal amount of food. This picture is btw from the rooftop.

During our stay in Riad Karim my friend and I got so sick, that we had to leave this accomodation earlier, for our health. In the night it was so freezing cold, the air condition didn´t help at all but blowing dirty air in the room and with only a thin blanket for two people. Even this single blanket had blood stains, it was disgusting. The matrace was hard like stone, that we couldn´t even move our backs in the morning (and usually we don´t have issues with our backs). We had our "room" next to the kitchen, so we got the entire smoke in our room, as they don´t have closable windows and our clothes and everything smelled like the smoke. And there were many more things which were not good. We decided to leave earlier, packed our luggage and we just wanted to go (although we were fine with paying for the whole stay). The woman from the kitchen couldn´t speak English, so she made us stay 1,5 hours, because she called the manager for discussing what the problem is. We did her the favour and waited such a long time, just for telling the manager that we want to leave right now. He came, was friendly and seemed to be very solution-focused, so he offered us staying in a better Riad from his Hotel chain, or having a dinner or getting a refund for the last night. As we already have booked another hotel, we chose the refund for the last night. We were so pleased by his behaviour because we didn´t expect anything. We agreed that I sent him an e-Mail with my PayPal-Account for the refund. This was in December, and from December until now I have sent a lot of e-Mails to Mohamed Ait Benhassan and to the whole travel consulting group, but I never got a reply to my e-Mails, not to mention that I never got the promised refund for the last night. We are quite surprised by his strange behaviour (and also by the whole company as nobody reacted at all, which is quite unprofessionell pretending to be dead), as we never asked for anything, just Mohamed keeping his promise.

Very dangerous and disappointing experience...

We have stayed for 3 nights, we were the only guest. The service was exellent, the breakfast was really nice, too. The riad is clean and calm. The rooms are small, the palce is rather for couples. The employees (enlish and french was spoken by them) took care of us with great hospitality, we even made friendship with them. The neighbourhood is the real Medina of Marrakech. It is busy, crowdy where you can get to know to the real face of the downtown (Medina). The locals are poor but they are nice and friendly (they help you, but don't give them too much money) For the first view the street is a bit scary but it is completely safe even at night.

This oasis of comfort, safety and solitude lies behind the most ordinary, even ugly, entrance alleyway. We had a little trepidation as we arrived at the ornate doorway, but totally forgotten once inside and confronting such a warm friendly welcome. 
You need navigate no more than a few hundred metres of narrow alleys to find local markets and eateries. Though a local area within the old city there are still plenty of tourists, but not the crush of the main square. 
Come here and experience a little of the real Marrakech 

Oasis amidst the Chaos 

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our short stay in Marrakech.  
We felt a bit vulnerable being left with one of the staff to walk to the riad which was some way from where the transfer dropped us.  We shouldn’t have worried though as we were greeted by the warm smiling face of Mouma and led quickly to our Riad.  
It wasn’t it a central part of the town but everywhere that we wanted to see was near enough to walk to or we could have got a cab or even a horse and cart.
Both Mouma and Mohamed were really helpful and kind particularly in sorting our part of our booking that had got a bit confused and Mohamed staying with us until a driver can to pick us up for the next part of our stay elsewhere (even though he had been working all night).
The room was basic but had everything that we needed.  Towels were soft and white and the toiletries were a welcome addition.
There was a safe in the room but this was not working but we were given a padlock for our room door.
There is a roof terrace that has loungers on and a table if you wanted to eat there for breakfast or an evening meal under the stars.
On our return from essouria a tasty chicken tagine was ready for us (that we had booked before we left) and which after three hours travelling and getting through the madness of the Marrakesh traffic, was very welcome.
The area we were in did not looked very inviting but once through the doors of the Riad you couldn’t have asked for a better value for money stay in Marrakech.  
One word of advice, nearby the Riad there were some young men who appeared kind and advising us of the way to go.  They asked for a tip (which we didn’t mind giving), but then when I offered them money started to stay is wasn’t enough.  This was attempted a second time but we were more wise then and refused their help.  This isn’t a fault of this Riad as it happens around the area but just wanted to make anyone thinking of going aware. Make sure you know the value of the currency as this had us tricked as we didn’t!
Anyway, back to the Riad.  The staff made the experience here so much better - thank you Mouma and Mohamed, you are both a true assets to the Riad.
A good value for money stay with great staff who really want to help you make the best of your holiday.

Great riad in Marrakech

We had an amazing experience in Morocco thanks to our stay at Riad Karim. Karim picked us up after our ride from the airport and soothed us from then on. Our room was cosy and very clean. We loved how they put rosepellets on our bed everyday. Besides that, he learned us things about their culture and religion. In summary, Karim was a fantastic host with a heart of gold! Thank you for everything.
