Modest, comfortable hotel which is 5 mins walk to the city centre. We had an unforgettable 6 hour hike with Raul who is the hotel´s official guide. He took up to the waterfall ´Corazón del Bosque´ and the very impressive cave network just outside of Cuetzalan which are deep in the jungle and sacred to the local people. We learnt all sorts of Nahua words for plants and animals and were regaled with wonderful traditional stories about the ancient landscape. You will need a Spanish speaker in your group to get the full experience. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Clean rooms, fresh air and excellent walking tours with the hotel´s guide, Raúl.

The hotel has a great location: it is an easy 10 minute walk from the bus station and one of the few places in town where you can actually drive to by and park a car. It is about 10 minutes uphill from the centre, meaning you walk down to the centre having a great view. The staff mostly speaks Spanish, but one person spoke decent English. They are all superfriendly and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and quiet by night. The room also had mosquito nets, so we could sleep with an open window. The prices are relatively low for Cuetzalan. They have great breakfast selection (not included in the price) which is one of the best food options to be had in Cuetzalan (we stayed 3 days, so we have tried a lot of restuarants), and the best is: one of the options is a super-delicious fruit platter. 

All in all, we liked the hotel very much but there are also some minor drawbacks: For people who cannot walk far, this might not be a good choice: you have to walk a lot of stairs on the hotel grounds, and also to the town centre (then again, for people who cannot walk well, Cuitzalan as a whole might not be a good choice because it is very steep). The room smelled of detergent or mosquito repellent.

Wonderful breakfast and great walk down to the town centre

A nice hotel that is close to the center of the city. Service was of really good quality, close to the main avenues. Small parking litros but with enough space. It is a good option for your stay at Cuetzalan. 

Close to the center of the city 

This Hotel is not a luxury hotel; but its cheap and very welcoming. I stayed two nights for 800 mexican pesos per night (USD$45). Rooms are decent, but they have a  serious problem with high humidity in the rooms. So If you have alergies such as sinusitis, maybe not recommendable. Cuetzalan is a humid town anyway. The reason why I liked this hotel was the garden of orchids and native plants they have there, its really nice!. Also, the breakfast was really good and nourished. Ask they guys in the hotel about a restaurant nearby (a block away), they make the best fried-trout I´ve ever eaten!. Cuetzalan is my favourite traditional town in Puebla-Mexico, and I would definetely return to this hotel.
